So about that Echo farming

yeah feels bad but so do a lot of things. we are all suckers

lol no one wants to be gatekeeped because higher cr just flat gets more echoes I don’t see how this is a hard concept for you

also like you said glads are like less than 1% of the playerbase its not rly a huge problem compared to what would happen if they made high cr get more echoes also it would cause major problems in the pve scene high end raiders would be required to be like 2400 spam queueing for echo farm

Bruh im not talking about who gets more echoes or not. What I’m saying is having high rated players in low brackets makes the game unplayable for low skilled players and telling them to get good is ignorant. You cant’t get to the skill level of a high rated player over night the skill curve is insanely high when you start to do that. I think you fail to realize how you played when you first played this game. Telling someone to get the the level of a high rated player just to play arena in their bracket would require so much time most people would simply choose to play another game. And when enough people choose to play another game you have blizzard making drastic changes to their game to retain their player base. And we all know how the game keeps getting dumbed down to recruit new and returning players.

then how would you fix the problem? obviously disabling corruption in pvp would fix the problem but that WONT happen

its rare to get matched against a glad/r1 at low cr too considering there are WAY more 1500-2k players than r1s/glads a lot of huge games have smurfs too and it hasn’t ruined the game for example LoL or csgo

also if you think this game caters to returning players youre trolling lol

Ultimately what im saying is that stuff like this whole corruption added to gear makes people leave the game. When people leave blizz freaks out and keeps making the game far different than the one we used to love. It’s like an endless bad loop that blizzard cant stop because they make stuff like corruption.

Corruption should have never been added to the game or the corruption vendor should have happened when corruption first came out.

yea obviously but this post was about the problem of sandbagging glads to farm echoes and if a player cant stand losing to someone that is severely better than them like 1 out of every 10 games then they shoudlnt play the game… people obviously have different motivation but a lot of people if they truly enjoy the game would want to improve and become the player that can just stomp 99% of the playerbase

you clearly don’t really pvp and seems you haven’t even experienced what the original poster was talking about considering you have 0 rating and low ilvl

Fought a team last night. If we had equal gear we prob could have and would have won. But it’s hard to win when they have almost 150-200k HP on you, x4+ gushing and 30%+ versa.

It wasn’t fun just rotting because of gear. I so m+ but the casino gods give me s#it I already have so no upgrade or stats I don’t want or don’t want to lose 5% of a target stat.

Just fix your gearing system already Blizz, why fu#$ with a good thing? Ion, stop being a tw@ and make PvP gear a thing that’s low lvl outside instanced PvP and scales up a lot in pvp, disable pve gear on use/proc and boom, best PvP X-Pac ever

I get what you are saying. And you’re right im not a pvper, at least not in this day. Im more casual and try to just enjoy the game. But sadly I keep seeing this game go downhill due to things like corruption in pvp.

yea it is trash I agree

This is just going to be like that until tuesday, everyone is rushing to get as many versatile amps as possible before the vendor is gone, otherwise you will literally just not have a chance at competing

It really sucks but it’s just unfortunate how they implemented this currency, put it on a random rotation, and also put it on an already existing currency that people could have never obtained on their mains

Some people went into this patch with 30k echoes, others went in with 0

Just kind of dumb all around, I do agree it can suck though

“We don’t like the GCD change. It’s making mirror image clunky”

Blizz, “Oh… so you don’t want depruning? Got it. No more mirror images.”

“WAIT NO. GOD NO.”

They aren’t learning anything when 90% the dmg is just drest, bike, and essences from melee or CB/gpie spam triangle formations.

All that is happening is people not wanting to jump into arena for all the things they need to farm out to be competitive.

I got a buddy that likes to heal, but just quit again when he realized every healer is running vitality conduit and he doesn’t want to have to put that much time trying to pug an old raid.

I would agree to you in previous times, but this xpac just aint that time.

We are already in a low participation xpac, we dont need reasons for people to leave.

This should be pretty much /thread

It scales with m+ and should do the same in rated PvP

Oversight by blizzard

ya should be like 5 echos below 1600 and 25 at 1800 then maybe the 100 everyones getting over 2200

Best way to solve this is to award echoes based on the mmr you play at. For instance, 0-1000 should be around 40 echoes per win. 1000-1600 should be 80 echoes per win. 1600-2100 should be 100 echoes and so forth. Seeing a lot of PvEers deliberately drop down from 1500 cr to 800cr just to grind these echoes against completely new players or extremely undergeared ones in order to get their desired corruptions.

This was my experience tonight (the rate of games that were severely outclassed in).

It’s not that bad. Out of like 50 games there were maybe 5 that were just completely out of our current level, but a few of those we actually felt decent in and lost but could learn from.

And overall, playing better players is the only way someone in my generally not high ranking but trying to improve state will learn.

Then there were the 3 free wins from people tanking.

But I’m also a generally rat league player who queues no matter what so I am probably not the best person since I don’t really give a f.

Honestly, more annoying than that is still losing to 3x obsidian claws on the other team, gettukwhateverthecrap bleeds or crap like that.

I’d rather get stomped out by a team of better players than lose because of some stupid pve gear blowing me up in bear because BFAids.

Ummm… you do realize… that… you do in fact… get less echoes at lower rating… right?..

The echo difference from low and high rating is almost entirely negligible

The faster games is just vastly more valuable

To continue the thread discussion, it’s honestly super stupid. I don’t really enjoy playing at low mmr. I can’t really explain it, but it’s miserable for it to be more efficient for me to win every game vs vastly inferior opponents. I don’t like winning every game, I actually enjoy the stress of knowing I can lose way more.

Personally this is actually worse to me than if I had to farm islands or something. After I finish grinding my hunter, I have to do my mage xD

It’s called being a good sport. True competitors generally like the struggle, because of the pay off from accomplishment giving you that dopamine high.
Killing ants don’t give much sense of accomplishment.

The best solution would make skirms and dungeons give echoes too, even if its only half of what you get in other sources.
