So about that 9 week grind for Puzzling Dinars

So, I’m really confused about the availability of the Puzzling Dinars. I guess I thought it was a 3 part quest, with 10 bosses per Dinar (so we could get one a week the first 3 weeks). But apparently it’s 30 bosses for one?? 90(!) bosses to get all 3?

Blizz, you did so many other things to make stuff move quicker on this shortened season, but then decided it should be a 9 week grind (the first week of October!) before people can get all three Dinars?? (And that’s if they start this week - you haven’t discussed the catch-up mechanic yet, if one exists). Do you really expect people to kill 90 raid bosses over 9 weeks to get the Dinars? And even if they do, that any of the gear on the vendors will matter at that point?

I cleared Nathria this week on my warlock and got a 1h weapon. But I’m currently using a 2h. No problem! Let me take my Dinar I just got and go over to the vendor and buy an offhand! Oh wait. I can’t. For two more weeks.

They should have made it so you could get multiple counts per week by doing different levels of bosses

I.e. full clearing LFR and Normal should be 20 out of 30.

The fact that its hard count at 10 was not a good decision

Would you prefer waiting until you get an offhand in your vault instead?

Considering the dinar lets you buy a weapon or trinket from any SL raid, yeah it makes sense to make you wait until you’ve cleared 30 bosses for your first one. They don’t want people clearing Nathria and buying gavel or cache from Sepulcher week 1.

It’s also too much to ask Blizzard to have separate vendors. That would have cost us season 4 entirely.

All this to avoid deterministic gearing with badges.

Valor + seasons of buffs to Valor system + lowering M+ thresholds + valor added to covenant dailies + valor cap removal (for now)
Box of disappointment + an expansion of Box of disappointment buffs + corruption + corruption vendor (eventually)
Vault of disappointment + an expansion of Box of disappointment buffs
Dinar + whatever is coming to make Dinar less bad

I can’t wait to see the next system they throw in to avoid going back to badges.

The funny thing is that eventually when we have 3 or 4 more systems tacked onto these systems we’re probably just going to end up going back to badges anyways.

The first dinar is 30. After that it’s fewer bosses, plus all three raids will be fated later in the season.

It’s just gating plain and simple until most won’t care about the dinars at all.

Glad I don’t ascribe to their design.

It’s just not to let you enjoy things but to make you plaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay - resub - plaaaaaaaaay instead of letting you go at the rate you want then take a break and come back if you’d like.

Blizzard is spiteful.

They created an RNTIRE EXPANSION around gliding because they hate flying so much. They could have made flying bette, added all the stuff to flying.

But no, they hate flying, hate it, so they devoted a team for over two years to come up with something that really isn’t flying. Super close, but not flying

Just to be spiteful.

I don’t really mind the three week grind for Dinars. My issue is the fact that it is normal ilvl gear. Normal and Heroic are cake but A TON of guilds quit so not many Mythic runs are being completed…why not just make this 1 per 3 week token able to buy Mythic (or at least heroic) ilvl?
