Regarding the server population tags on the server list, why is medium used in SoM when the population is under 2.5k? While medium on classic when it was current content was 2-3x that size for the medium tag?

Your issue is not a population issue. Leveling is faster and easier by doing quest, usually solo. Additionally, doing PVP is bis for almost all classes. There is no reason to play a tank, group for anything, or play with others. SoM has truly taken the Multi Player out of MMORPG. Your best bet is to treat it like a single player game.

Have you considered joining a leveling guild?
I tried but the only one I could find was…well based on these forums they should be playing on JomG.
Maybe I should just give in and relevel a character there and just put up with whatever toxicity they spew.

I am sorry to tell you this but the game isn’t designed for that, sure with SoM having BGs in at the start you need to premade to even get the good gear so I would be in the same boat regardless it feels like 
Vendorstrike is nice.
Vanilla WoW was not designed for single player. The changes that they made for SoM still did not make the game designed for Single Player but made the most effective route to things be Single Player. It still is not designed for that, but it is the best way to do things. The second best way is to have a leveling partner that plays pretty much exactly the same times as you. The worst way is LFG for anything, simply because everyone else is doing the best way which is Single Player.
From what I can see, shadowstrike is pretty much the exact same population as barman its just a normal server
Shadowstrike currently has 129 lvl60s online and Barman has 147, the problem remains regardless it looks like. I don’t want a megaserver but I would at least like to be able to play with random people regularly.
I might just have to give up on SoM at this rate.

Confused why you’d be looking at level 60s when you are leveling and needing folk at low levels.

If you can’t find groups at every level on Shadowtrash, you aren’t trying at all.
Does anyone realize how many characters are getting deleted and recreated by the HC/SoI community upon every death? This is part of the reason why getting 60’s seems slower.
I mean, 2.5k people isn’t a small server by any means… Unless they have massively dominant factions you shouldn’t have much issue finding people to dungeon with.
One thing to remember is that not everyone looks at/uses LFG chat. You can’t just afk in a city saying “dps lfg sm” and expect to find anything that way. Do a /who of people your level and start whispering. 8 times out of 10 they’ll be keen to join and run or might be gathering quests to run it later.
The other thing is that yes, most people now are lvl 60. The ones that aren’t are playing super casually around whatever else they do and aren’t going to be online reliably enough to play with anyway. It’s 100x easier to find a group for Strat or Scholo than SM because most people simply aren’t still leveling.

Probably because most servers are carried by the sweaties that make of the lvl60 population. It’s not a very difficult concept. I rather reroll on a healthy established server and not one where there is only low levels because its been almost six weeks and that’s not a good sign.
Being an “established level 60” at this point is a great sign that you’re going to unsub by March after shrieking about the double decay and “every server dad” for two months straight.

This is what I am talking about, you couldn’t give me a decent input so you made some odd blanket statement about people being 60 already. I asked which servers had a healthly population and wanted statistical data with personal input. You decided to make some out of place generalization about people being 60 and the honor system. Don’t be upset when you’re the one lacking in reading comprehension.

Looks like I pretty much have to if I want to play the game.
I’ve been able to group with others and even have to fight for tags on Shadowstrike. Very populated server. This is on alliance side.

I replied to your grossly inaccurate generalization with a generalization of my own. There’s no in-depth meta analysis to be had here to sate your need for over-complicating a clearly binary choice.
