It would seem that Lava Lash got locked, and then is now unlocked. As Blizzard charges me to play this game based on the amount of time my account is active, it would be really nice to those players who transferred to have some kinda blue post saying whether the server were open, closed, or just bugged.
I’m not going to get into “making whole” those players who got uprooted, because that’s a different, albeit related, issue, but since time is that actual coin of the realm, can a Community Manager please let us know what’s going on?
Sorry if I missed an update on the matter. Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere in the 300+ replies in the thread complaining about how locking Lava Lash was bad for them, but SWEET MOTHER OF PEARL, I sure would like someone who works for the company to weigh in here.
Community Managers: Is Lava Lash open or closed, and will it stay that way?
You pay for the privilege of having characters on their servers.
At no point whatsoever are you giving them money for anything else, just the characters.
They have it in the ToS that they can end, start, stop, copy, transfer and modify ANYTHING that they use in their games, including servers being open or even online.
My post is about it already happening, then un-happening and not really seeing a lot of official communication as to why that was.
Second, I am under no misapprehension that my $15/mo makes me anything more than the meatsack I am. The point about money and time is that if LL’s been brought back up and is intended to stay that way, I think a lot of people would like to know before they invest their time/money in a server that’s in a questionable state.
But, despite the tone of your message, we haven’t known when it happened. That’s my point.
Unfortunately, I’m too sick to play today, and I’m afraid I’m limited mostly to the forums, and in my particular case, dealing with friends who are dealing with the fallout of “saying so” and then having things on Lava Lash not match up.
What’s your point? The OP wasn’t threatening to cancel or anything, they were just asking for more communication because Lava Lash got locked and then reopened and there’s been no communication so he’s asking to know what’s up. Your response is illogical to the concerns and shows a lack of reading on your part so it’s funny that you claimed someone else couldn’t read (projection).
I was going to mention that I don’t reply to threads of things I don’t care about, like class balance, but then I see your history and you’re just trolling everyone, adding nothing of value to any thread, just being rude and trying to invoke a response each time.
Sorry for whatever is going on with you to cause you to use a gaming forum to make you feel better, or if you are just like this, I’m sorry for those close to you who are forced to deal with it.
Badhorse, ignore the trolls. Your thread is valid.
I don’t have characters on Lava Lash. It would just appear that we got a decision reversed, which would be really great news, considering what happened with the WotLK fresh servers - Maladath is set to close this week.
I care about this because it happened to me in WotLK, and it affects friends who at the beginning of the game said “I’m going to go to this smaller server” when a lot of my group ended up going to Wild Growth in its stead.
That said, there’s a secondary question here that I think is of concern to all of us who post, which is “Does Blizzard read the forums?” - because there’s been a couple of instances like with paladin nerfs getting 86ed before implementation, or potentially Lava Lash being saved, and if it did, if the forum activity had anything to do with it because we infrequently get any official feedback here.
But while Toughburger is correct - I shouldn’t expect to speak to a manager, and my fifteen dollars doesn’t make me special, I would like to know if what has happened is real or a clerical error. I think a lot of people would before they invest their time back into Lava Lash. Stopping people posting, or telling them to “wait until someone says so,” isn’t helpful, and it doesn’t reflect reality. And even if it does, leaving the server in a “grey area” where there is no news still means fewer people willing to invest their time and money in it. One would think five days enough time to just write “Oops. It’s closed/open.”
So, if we did just have this small victory, “wait until someone says so and stop posting” runs counter to what just won it.

(Thank you, Mootwo, I don’t feel great today, and typing is difficult. That was kind, and I really appreciate it.)
