So... 16GB update

It has to be some kind of re-optimization on top of new content. There isn’t 16.4GB worth of new content in the patch unless 90% of the patch is a surprise. My WoW folder is already 64GB in size including addons.

Yes, mine is 16.4GB.

My luck they just upped the overall minimum requirements to play the game by updating all textures from JPEGs to TIFF.

Thanks Blizz, now my /fps will be 12 in empty Tanaris. And no I do not have a potato, just a GPU that goes nuclear past level 3.

Its one of those updates again, where the speed starts at max then slows to B/s.

Yeah, 16.4 gig here and at 2%. You know, if this was a foreground download it would finish sooner for sure.

I think I’ll let this puppy download all night :stuck_out_tongue:

Mine just stopped and it was still only at 1-2% so maybe it was a mistake?

Do you have it set to only download like 60mb of it? By default it downloads a very small amount.

It hasn’t stopped for me. I’m downloading at a rate of around .9 meg a second…funny thing is, this has been going on for 30 minutes and the progress bar has not moved. The bandwidth limit for actual and future patches is blank so it should be using all of the bandwidth my connection offers. You’d think the progress bar and percentage would at least change a bit.

I don’t see any settings related to the amount it downloads, only the speed, which I had changed to unlimited since it was only at 100KB/s. My internet only goes up to 2-3MB/s though and it was only at 1% when I last checked it.

1.Real money loot box piñatas at every flight path

2.All dungeons from deadmines up have mythic mode.

  1. Havok engine physics added.

  2. Nazmir blood trolls have gained sentient thought and have morphed into a virus that has uploaded itself to botnet itself into our reality. Blizz is unaware of the “patch” because they are too busy on their “phones”

  3. AoL was added to WoW for Blizz. Money was running low, now expect each raid boss, NPCs, etc to occasionally send you an in game advertisement. Expect your mail box to talk to you often.

  4. Surprise, you have another garrison!

Interestingly, the update has stopped for me — the UI completely went away and it is no longer downloading or showing a patch. Perhaps it was a mistake and they pulled it?

How far did you get in the download? I’m holding at 2% in the progress bar but I’m downloading at a consistent rate.

I think about the same, but since the UI for the patch is not showing at all anymore I can’t check. I had a similar experience to what was described above, where I was downloading at about 45 MB/s and then it dropped to k/s and eventually stopped and went away.

Okay, I’m gonna let it run overnight. I already did what I had to do today…I just realized during my online session it rubberbanded a lot earlier this evening. I logged off, had dinner and logged back on to see this download start. Maybe the UI will disappear for me soon as well.

My poor, old 120gb SSD can’t candle 16gb. 60gbs from Wow alone. I had to delete so much stuff and my external is corrupted atm so I couldn’t back up a lot of stuff either >.<

I see a lot of people posting the progress bar is not moving so they do not know how far along the update has gone.

You can force it to update the progress bar if you pause the download, wait 10 seconds, and then unpause it. The progress bar jumped from 1% to 49%

Just checked the desktop app, and even though I paused the background download for WoW, the battle.net app was still sucking down bandwidth from the InterWebs.

Turns out that it was also doing a smaller background download for HotS, so that may explain why some folks aren’t seeing progress on the WoW download right now.

/moo :cow:

Hey, thanks for sharing that good point. I don’t have HotS installed so I dodged the hit. So other application updates might have impacted WoW’s prepatch then.

For me, going into Destiny 2 to mindlessly shoot NPCs can be soothing. Their hand cannons are actually satisfying, too. Many games have weak hand guns and make you get the spray & pray machine guns to do any damage, but the ones in Destiny are actually nice, IMO.

But enough about that game…
