So... 16GB update

for 16 gbs upgrade it feels wrong and there’s some mistake here… the expansion should be at 16gbs already (13+(3-4 gb ish from 8.1) which should be at 16-17 gbs)

suddenly it feels we’re forced to re download the entire expansion again.

16gb? For a patch that changes nothing and adds a raid in the background? Something isnt right

I honestly thought it was a Windows Update for a second.

With any luck they’ve realized that things went a little too far South and they’re finally releasing the actual expansion now, instead of the pre-BFA content patch we’ve been playing up till now. Maybe Christmas came early, y’all.

That was what.ce to my mind as well

aren’t they doing a lot of optimization this patch? that might be why it is so big

Hey! I hope so!

define “a lot” that can justify 16-17GB update as “patch”.

I’m gonna go a head and think this is a mistake and there was something wrong…

When I did a fresh, complete new install of WoW on a brand new machine just over a week ago, it was 54GB. That includes Vanilla, TBC, WotLK, Cata, MoP, WoD, Legion, and BfA. That’s like 8 games. And the game was “playable” at just a couple of GB into the download, which means the core stuff isn’t that big, with the rest being mostly graphics.

Now we have a mid-expansion patch of 16GB, which is 30% of the total of everything that came before it. It doesn’t add up, unless they are completely replacing lots and lots of existing graphics files, and why would they be doing that in an x.1 type of patch?

Somethings not quite right…

Pre-patching Classic?

classic messing with retail files? doesnt make any sense. This is for 8.1 “patch”.

Has anyone else seen it show 16GB? I haven’t been able to see if my system was waiting to download a file yet.

Does it really matter? Yeesh, shut up and just let it download. Like someone said above, 16G is not a big deal/size in 2018.

Maybe the expansion is finally releasing with this new patch.
