So 11.1.5 corruptions...?

I decided to finally take a look at what 11.1.5 is bringing for the first time today and I’ve learned everything is… time gated?? It is what it is… But my main interest was corruptions being back! I remembered blasting in 8.3 and how broken it was… then came to find out that they only will account for about less than 3% dps gain in M+ after they had been buffed by 186%?

Do you all think they will further buff corruptions to make them even noticeable? I understand why they didn’t want it to be as good as it was in BFA but… as a thing to market in a patch you’d expect it to be something people would really be excited for… not 2-3%

No. We don’t want to trivialize raid or m+. 3 percent is an reasonable amount. Much more than that would make content too easy.

Are you sure? We have more than enough gear at 665 ilvl now but we will go all the way to 678, and raid will be nerfed by 18% in addition to all the other nerfs raid and M+ get by design.

They are still actively tuning, one PTR build it was 10% of your overall damage, then it was nerfed to 1% then most recently buffed to 3%.

They generally aim for a 3-5% damage increase when it comes to these sort of mid season catch up items. Like with the Circlet from 11.0.7.

Ahh okay that makes more sense. Haven’t been keeping up so I wasn’t aware that they’ve had tuned it multiple times.

3% gain on every player for pretty much free is pretty good. people scramble for bis items for way less of a gain.

Yeah it will get easier. No need to make that even worse by throwing another massive big at is. 3 percent is reasonable, and on par with what helm enchant did last expansion. We don’t want to give raid an 5, 10, 15 percent nerf across the board. We don’t want to be ” blasting” that totally contrary to the spirit of wow. I want a challenge. Rather needs where needed, but we don’t want that horrible op stuff like remix garage.

The thing is that those nerfs are already going to make the power swing feel really bad next patch, this just adds + I would rather no corruptions or release the patch 10.2 with them

I dislike having my character feel powerless at the start of each patch because they nerfed everything to god mode by the end of last patch. If it’s god mode throughout, fine.

You can only apply the corruption enchant to Season 2 gear. It will be irrelevant for Season 3.

Right it is a bother for me, you should keep more between power patches I dislike the yo-yo each season

Raid buff probably shouldn’t apply to heroic and normal in my opinion. But what do I know lol.

The increasing damage/healing buff is there for all raid content so the devs can use that instead of nerfing the bosses often.

I wonder why they don’t just release the game nerfed instead of nerfing so much / soft nerfing over time by making our gear progression take so long

Alot of the nerfs are due to scaling issues. For raiding it’s usually because normal and heroic is flex and the scaling can be wonky. For M+ sometimes the infinitely scaling nature of keys just has an ability do absurd damage.

Other times it’s because the tuning was way off. Heroic Gallywix is probably a good example of this right now because for heroic you’re bringing more healers than normal for a fight up to 8 healers because of how much damage goes out in phase 1 prior to the recent nerfs.

I understand that 3% is a good gain when it comes to armor and gear itemization but for me its just odd to market something that will end up doing less damage overall than my consecration in a key.

The thing is it’s free damage ontop of what you are already doing with your rotation.

Also the 3% is assuming you are executing your rotation perfectly and there is no downtime to do mechanics.

It just seems odd for corruptions to have flashy visual effects but to hit like a wet noodle is all. I think a 4% ST dps gain and 6% aoe would more suitable. Not 1.8% ST and 3% aoe.
