Honestly, this game is getting exhausting. It’s bleeding subs and raid teams are falling apart left and right and have been since BFA.
Why in 2021 do we not have flex or at the very least 10 man mythic raid?

I liked flex in mop and people always seemed to love 10 man so why not.
I would like for this to happen
Flex mythic doesn’t exist so they can provide the best quality mythic raids and not that “This encounter is easier with 14 guys so you two sit on bench for this”
This excuse doesn’t work anymore. Hire more engineers that can handle better balance and math. It’s 2021 not 2004.
You’re funny
Because you’d complain if you were benched because the boss is magically easier with a 2/3/9 comp or if Mythic’s class requirements mean you’re getting sat for a class that can actually do it.
I’ll be completely honest, I would wade through all of the crappy systems that they have in the game right now if it meant that I could do 10-man raiding again. I miss 10-man raiding so, so much. It was hard to balance with 25-man, yes, but it was just fun. Not everything needs to be built around balance. The 10-man and 25-man guilds I was in didn’t care what the other size was doing, if 10-man or 25-man was easier for that particular boss, each guild was on it’s own journey.
I enjoy playing with smaller groups. I still love Mythic raiding as it is now, I got CE in Castle Nathria, but 10-man will ‘ALWAYS’ hold a special place in my heart. I don’t think flex would work though.
Everyone always told me 25m was way easier than 10 anyway do 25 silly but hardly did. And considering after 17 yrs people seem to have alot harder time getting along imagine 10 not 20 you might get rid of that 1 annoying person in discord finally.
Best raids they ever created had 10 player mode associated with them. Raids now of days are mediocre at best.
They still have a lot of tuning issues now with raids, even though they claimed with 10/25 modes had tuning issues. You can’t escape tuning issues.
They really did put more effort into the old raids and it gave great results. Now it’s just do the raid, nothing really exciting. It’s just something to do.
People complained about the 11 player drama. How many people do you need for a mythic team for call out and such? at least 25 or more. It’s alot worse.
I would love a fixed 10 player and 20 player mode for mythic.
I doubt they will ever do flex raiding for mythic, it would be nice but I doubt they could get the level of tuning that they want out of it. I remember back in Wrath, some raids were actually harder in 10 man than the 25 version.
Blackrock Foundry and Nighthold are two of the most universally-acclaimed raids of all time and are put on the same pedestal as fantastic raids like Ulduar (where the 10/25 balance didn’t matter because 10 wasn’t even the actual hard difficulty) and Throne of Thunder (which singlehandedly killed the 10/25 split because of how atrocious its balance was). You have no idea what you’re talking about if you think raids became bad as soon as Mythic became a thing.
I would argue against this all day. Sure, BRF and nighthold were fun. But as soon as mythic 20 man lock came in to play after heroic, it became garbage. This was never a good design decision. Legion and WoD were also much more populated and it was much easier to find people back then. It’s not easy now because the population is dying. If the game was thriving this would be less of an issue (still an issue because FFS it’s 2021 not 2004. there is no reason anymore that engineers with brain cells can’t figure out how to hotfix and balance things better)
Full mythic flex? Probably never.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they did 19-21 flex at some point.
Just delete mythic and go back to hard mode and def bring back flex raiding.
cus Blizz decided Mythic was important enough to design specifically for 20 people so they can assume every class is present and tune it more tightly than they can for a flexible player amount.
I don’t agree with it. I think letting people play how they want is way more important than having a slightly more “perfectly” tuned experience.
But that’s the logic.
People get this wrong, and keep thinking in terms of scaling things down.
What they need, is Mythic flex, but scaling UP. So you can bring more than 20 people on the fight.
One of the awful things about Mythic raiding is that you need more than 20 players, but at the same time, not everyone gets to play.
20 man is not working. And it’s inception has had a catastrophic effect on the game.
They have to introduce Flex mythic. No ifs or buts about it.
