Sniffenseeking “Sneak and Sniff” requires “jangly key” which is not in the cavern. In fact nothing in there is and nothing can be interacted with. There should be a bubbly elixer also and there is not.
I am now stuck with my renown trailing behind others who did not have this bug.

Can you exit and it should reset the dig when you reenter.
And digs are random. Done digs on two characters now and each has had different digs.
Yeah i’ve tried resetting it, nothing works, have seen others who have the same dig as mine say that it’s bugged. I got mega unlucky getting that specific one 
Same issue here. Reset the dig a few times, nothing interractable in the dig. My alts all got different ones
I have the same problem. I contacted support and they said to leave area and reset. I can’t reset the world quests “Brand New Dig” though, which I keep getting. And I really don’t want to lose all my progress on the Aiding the Accord, so I am loathe to reset that if it won’t help. I did abandon and retake “The Buddy System.” I can do everything (got the key and map) but I can’t put Myrrit on the platform/button and I can’t interact with the treasure chest.
I have the same problem aswell, all my other characters got a different dig cave. I tried to zone out and in, drop quest and pick up again, nothing seems to work.
OK, I was dumb. Or it wasn’t obvious (I was Captain Obvious). The pressure plate is in the other room. Not the same room as the treasure chest. I thought those plate-things by the chest were where I was supposed to leave him. It worked fine.
Same problem. Can’t drop it and get a new one, waiting for daily and weekly resets hasn’t worked. There’s literally nothing I can do except hope Blizzard sees this because until then my sniffenseeking progress on my main character is borked.

I am having this same problem on “thieving critters” the muddy key won’t drop from the spider or beetle. I have the other key. The instance will not reset either.and keeps taking me back to the same spot but the will not drop no matter how many times I kill the the characters that drop them. I’ve checked on wowhead, and I’ve done what I’m supposed to do, and have done this dig previously but it’s bugged. the item wont’ drop and I can’t complete the dig or start other digs.
I’m stuck with 0/1 digs complete because thieving critter won’t properly resolve. I’ve gotten both keys, looted the chest, and nothing.
Why we can’t select different digs is beyond me. Deeply frustrating. They’re often buggy and it just makes me not want to do the content.

Same issue here. I’ve tried resetting ui, deleting key and relooting it. Nothing. Submitted bug request.

This is another reason for the drop in sub, this system of use the forum for your reporting of issues never been a fan of. We are to beleave they read the post and take action on these issues. Yes here I am another bug that never been fixed and your stuck.
Blizzard, one of my toons is stuck, just like all these other people. It really makes it hard to grind rep when I can’t go on a dig because this dig can’t be completed. I can’t gather the 2nd key to save my life. And every time I try to go back into the dig, week after week, it takes me to the same exact dig. Ugh. don’t know what to do.
I’ve had a bugged dig for months preventing me from doing any digs , I’ve made tickets and every response is a GM cant doing anything saying ‘a Dev has to fix it’. Months with a many other getting bugged digs i don’t see it ever getting fixed, this is a abandoned function of the game they don’t care about.
