Snarky jokes at the playerbase's expense

There’s no way you’re a grown person. No human could survive to adulthood with so brittle a spirit.

Now they can learn to take a joke.

Making jokes about the forum in general has happened before. I don’t think it’s mean spirited. I think it was Legion pre-patch where you could pick up signs and put them in the ground as single use items, and they were called things like Angry Post. I don’t remember all the names. But they were signs made in the Troll style so they were “troll posts.”

Also, this is not the only game / dev team that makes jokes into the game referencing their community and requests / behaviors.

Aye, there’s generally no harm behind it. Just good natured ribbing, basically.

And its real funny

Nothing wrong with poking fun at the different races.

Blood Elves make jokes about eating Tauren.

Blood Elf females make jokes about the Forsaken.

Dark Iron Dwarves make jokes about Teldrassil - and then say “too soon?”

You’re not the one being mocked though which is the issue with 90 percent of these posts. Hold your response till you actually have something you want and the company your are paying monthly subs for mocks you for it.

That is mocking the race though this feels specifically targeted at a select group of people who play the race. Thats a big difference.

Johnny Awesome was specifically mocking blood elf players.

So, I think I know what I’m talking about.

I might be wrong since I don’t really care much about Worgen, but isn’t there a lore justification somewhere to why they don’t have tails? Just because the players might want doesn’t mean the devs have to do it.

I also found the joke funny. They do those on their April Fools patch notes as well.

I think they just feel cheated with how so many of them sincerely and truly wanted in their hearts this customization option, and then Blizzard goes and does this to them.

For a long time they all kind of just bonded with eachother about it, especially in that darn thread and felt like as an army of posts and ceaseless demanding that they were winning. They recently got excited about getting it over 10k replies, waiting on that Blue Post.

Well they got the Blue Post. A mocking joke directed towards them with zero give to what they wanted. All that effort shut down with a single voiceline.

Oh it’s okay for people to make fun of Draenei but when someone makes fun of Worgen THEN it crosses a line?

What happened to people just taking a joke? How does a generation that grew up on South Park and Beavis & Butthead end up offended by everything?

Blizz has done some genuinely off-color stuff in the past but I don’t really see this as being part of that. It’s a light-hearted joke about something that’s probably taken a little too seriously by some small subset of players.

The thing about the april fools one is that it was clear from the start that it was satire. Several of of the complaints they joked about in that were actually addressed as well.

if people leave the game over a joke. holy cow

It’s all right, I seen the jokes with the bards…is that a type of food.

Also we have :duck: in the beta. Poor things being tormented by water.

I keep hoping there might be something to do with crick elves, but probably not.

They’ve been doing little jokes like that going all the way back to stuff like broken iwin buttons. Learn to laugh at yourself once in a while.
