Smoke bomb base line for all rogue

Smoke bomb should have been baseline long ago. Should never have left the Rogues kit for any form of content.

Radius or duration can be altered if it is a problem in PVE.

they literally could just make smoke bomb like DHs Darkness w/e ability in pve and no one would complain. if anything you think that would be a welcomed concept? a group utility buff for the one spec thats only real group utility is stuns and blinds and sap here or there.

They could. Im just not a fan of copy pasted abilities and would still like the effect to be unique to rogues. They very well could do that though and id be satisfied.

Unless you treated Smoke Bomb in that regard like Lust; where you can use it once, but there’s a ten-minute downtime in between for the raid. And then for a class Cap Stone, Rogues could take a talent where they can use Smoke Bomb as a personal defensive at half the CD, like Bubbles for Pallies.

If you lean into the ability as Raid-wide Utility as a deployable wall for things like boss fights, Smoke Bomb would be no different than a Battle Rez or Lust at that point.

Except players would want access to that specific effect on other classes. Blizzard would already be doubling the amount of abilities being used by bosses thatd youd wanna use Smoke Bomb on the fight for to ensure there still a challenge in fights. Itd break the game no matter how you look at it.

Another day that ends in Y.

How? It would be a once-per-pull ability like Lust is and Smoke Bomb would be more niche than a Battle Rez. It would be limited in size and it only breaks LoS.

You’re over-thinking this.

Smoke Bomb can be made baseline again if there is the will. Look at Shroud of Concealment where it still part of the PVE kit.

Yes absolutely agree. Should be baseline. If it breaks things in PvE that much, just make it like DH’s darkness in raid/mythic. Although really I think they should be able to figure out how to get it to work.

All other class so tanky atm. Our rogue die so fast in team fight if our healer get CC. Our vanish DONT work in team fight. Please make our Smoke Bomb base line. This expansion Blizzard keep nerf our class into oblivion. The only defensive Blizzard buff us is Feint off GCD.

Feint of the GCD is a small hat tip to Rogues from BlizZard to try to help the class in PVE and PVP. But it is going to take more than that to make the class popular again.

These threads really remind me of that Wayne Knight scene from Jurassic Park.

“AHH THEY WANT THIS THING BACK!! PEOPLE WANT SOMETHING AHHH!!!”
…
“See? Nobody cares.”

Mobs don’t even respect line of sight so lmao at Smoke Bomb. The darkcasters in dawnbreaker just zapping torment beams from behind walls is either very lazy or intentional and obnoxious (out of your los not theirs). Delve mobs are at least somewhat fixed (but only somewhat, los still isn’t actually interrupted, they instead seem programmed to stop cast instead which makes spells landing feel somewhat erratic).

The takeaway though is that the game is tuned for the top n% to “play properly” and use their interrupts, instead of “degenerate play” like LoS toggling. And they will continue to shoehorn that philosophy into wherever they can…

It’s like trying to enjoy a game of D&D with a god moder dungeon master–it just won’t be fun unless you’re “part of the club”.

Just realized distract for the trickster talent looks just like smoke bomb. Could maybe just expand on that if they don’t want to mess with the pvp version of smoke bomb.

It was a great opportunity that they let them pass on by to make PVE version of smokebomb.

Maybe whoever is in the cloud also applies fazed. So like a 5% damage raid buff for 10 seconds when in a small circle. Though I can see that be more annoying cause all the ranged need to run inside.

I feel Rogue is one of the only specs where they’ve achieved their goal of balancing healer attention combined with proactively using defensives at the right time. It’s frustrating seeing a DK soaking up a swirley, living (even without AMS etc.), healing to full, while a rogue has to pre-feint (with energy cost) an unavoidable mechanic just to barely survive and then needs the healer to blast heals into them after. And Rogue isn’t even the worst off in this regard.

Outlaw is in a better position due to a few more pseudo-passive DRs and stacking vers, but sin rogue in particular feels it needs constant babysitting in keys.

If other specs remain as tanky and doing just as much dps, we should at least have either cheat death or elusiveness baseline at this point, and that’s just for starters.

Adding this to my list of reasons as to why Sub is better than Sin for everything besides straight overall damage in keys.

Need a talent that lets your next Shadowstrike or Evis after Cheap Shot hit every stunned target (basically hit twice in ST)

i have 2 smokebombs. lololololololo
