Hello people. I’m considering using SMF and the Battleworn Thrash blade while leveling my fury warrior. Does anyone know for certain if the extra swing procs off abilities (Raging Blow, Bloodthirst, Slam) and does the extra swing build additional rage? If it does, which hand do you recommend I use it with, or does it even matter? Thanks in advance.
Highest ilvl/dps goes in main hand. Other than that it doesn’t matter. Can’t help with the rage. Should be an easy test, check your combat log. Pretty sure it procs off all melee abilities and autos.
Thanks. I tried it out but I’m having trouble figuring out which melee swing is the extra attack, correct me if I’m wrong but the log doesn’t specify which melee attack is the proc’d swing.
Correct. The extra swing will be counted as just a swing. Nothing special about it other than it happens more often.
I believe rage generation is normalized regardless of weapon. Definitely between 2 hander and one handers in fury spec. Not 100% sure about specific weapons , pretty sure though.
So if I decide to level using SMF and Thrash, the rage generation will be the same as if I was using TG and x2 Arcanite Reapers?
I believe so, yes. But keep in mind that the value of thrash blade isn’t necessarily only in “extra rage” extra hits alone could build up quick and deal a decent amount of damage. With leveling it doesn’t matter too much but I’d go for whichever you think is cooler.
One thing to keep an eye out for in expansions are weapons that have special effects, these effects might not be game breaking but take for instance Getti’ikku. A weapon with a free bleed that heals. Very strong.
While leveling it doesn’t much matter beyond personal preference, but in a max level scenario, If I had the choice of a stat stick vs something with stats AND and effect. I’d pick the latter every time.
If you turn on timestamps to the second, and maybe use an autoswing timer addon, you should be able to distinguish. It’ll instantaneously follow another attack.
