I don’t use misdirect but I’ve noticed a lot of tanks complaining about it and also complaining about getting aggro off another tank without taunting. Just saw this Smart Misdirect WA + macro and I’m wondering if it could be causing that problem? Tanks need to time switching aggro between them based on number of debuff stacks with some bosses and die if they get aggro back when they have too many stacks, and it’s been a mystery why it happens in a couple of raids I’m in.

A Weak Aura which lets you automatically target a tank in your party with your Misdirection. If no tank is in your party, it will instead target your pet if you have one out.

meh…misdirect is set to my pets.
In groups if tank has a problem with that I just wont use it at all in the run.

Do you ever misdirect the second raid boss to your pet and draw the vomit off the people that need to get hit by it?
I dont raid. Or M+. I tried raiding a bit back in Legion. Hated it. Its like more like a riot than anything strategic.
I dont think Ive ever heard a tank complaining about misdirect in the content I do.
But like i said…if it was ever a matter of import, Id just not use it at all if its gonna cause any issues.
Do you play as a marksmanship? If yes, Misdirection is mandatory since MM is very bursty. If you’re not using it you’re failing as a MM Hunter.
What I do is that I put the tank on focus and with a simple macro I never get aggro. If Misdirection is on cooldown, I use my burst and as soon as I notice I got aggro I use feign death. Ezpz.

If you’re in a raid with two tanks that need to time switching aggro, and a bunch of hunters are all misdirecting their threat to one of the tanks, could that cause an issue?
You don’t really use misdirection in raids, unless there is a mechanic where groups have to split, in that case you would focus your corresponding tank.
Now to answer your question, yes if, say 10 hunters would misdirect to a healer to troll them, tank would probably lose aggro but not really by much
