i was going to put some eggs up for auction, only to find that itā€™s a 3g deposit for a singular egg.

so much for the season of givingā€¦ i hadnā€™t intended to charge anywhere near that amount. :unamused:

what happened to the auction house being free market, with prices being dictated by players?
a 3g deposit for a level 10ish ingredient is just insane.

this used to be a viable way for new players/lowbies (or new to realm players) to make a few gā€¦ but now most wouldnā€™t even be able to afford to list the items!

and itā€™s been like this for quite some timeā€¦ but the ā€œfixā€ was just putting an infected band-aid on a wound.

They changed that awhile back to prevent one person from listing 10,000 individual ores, and such.

But the upcoming AH changes should fix all that once and for all.

The deposit cost for items like that was increased earlier in BfA. It was to try to help prevent floods of single stack items.

Blizzard increased the deposit amount for posting as an attempt to stop the amounts of people posting pages of single items

Larger stacks of items are actually cheaper in terms of deposit rates

Unfortunately it didnt work it was almost as big a fail as the D3 AH

If you want to give, then just offer in chat. a 3g deposit fee implies you are listing the items at a decidedlyā€¦ not ā€œgivingā€ price.

Sadly, Blizzardā€™s answer to complaints about people flooding the AH was to increase the deposit, making it impossible for new players to use the AH to list single items.

The real solution should have been to ban AH addons that allow this until Blizz could fix their system. But the screams would be loud if they did that. So the new guys suffer.

Im sure the whole deposit on auctions issue will be fixed once the updated AH rolls around. Really seems like blizz (like many playersā€¦) is sick of single item listings for stackablesā€¦

Horde have it easier to farm eggs

Birds in westfall only drop a single egg but Dragonhawks near Silvermoon always drop 2

Okay. What a weird thing to complain bias for. Did you also know that you canā€™t fly in that entire zone? No flight in Silvermoon and its surrounding zones.

So, technically, you would be able to farm much more efficiently in a flight enabled zone.

Also, I donā€™t believe your statement of the hawks always dropping two eggs is accurate.

i donā€™t want to give them away, but i donā€™t want to be an extortionist either.
ā€¦the cheapest listed are currently 21g eachā€¦ and thatā€™s a bit much imo.

i think the original deposit amount i saw, was because i threw a large quantity into the windowā€¦ playing around with the various filters eventually brought the deposit price down.

i used to farm the barrens harpies

perhaps we can just turn this into a ā€œwhere to farm eggs to avoid extortionā€ thread :joy:

ā€¦and a big PSA to anyone new to Winter Veil, milk comes from vendors.
Donā€™t buy AH milk, itā€™ll leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Not all hawks drop eggs but its ALWAYS 2 when looted go kill some and see for yourself

3 gold for one egg? A level 10 item?

World of Warcraft economy is going to the twisting nether of doom if a single egg is 3 gold. The chicken that laid a golden egg? I can see a dozen eggs for 3 gold not one.

Seriously you can get a dozen(12) eggs in real life and only cost a 2-6 dollars.

Horde is probably getting a stocking full of charcoal and ash for being bad this year. You know the night elf tree house being burnt down and all. All that charcoal and ash has to go somewhere why not fill there stockings with it.
