I’m looking to tame a bat but can’t find any that don’t just explode into a ridiculously large size when tamed.
Anyone know of a bat that stays small when tamed?
Unfortunately, no, pet scale is more or less a fixed quantity. However, Nether Rays have the same skill-set as bats (Ferocity + Purge), and there are some Nether Ray models that at least take up less of the screen space due to lack of wings and a more streamlined model.

I just find those guys creepy to look at. I was trying to avoid getting one.
Have you tried using the glyph of lesser proportion?

Yes, and they are still too big for my taste
If you don’t care about family or abilities, you might want to try a bee from the honey farm in Stormsong Valley. I can barely see it in combat.
Unfortunately all bat tamed will be the same size. I can only suggestion using the Glyph of Lesser Proportion if you want to have a smaller tamed bat; the only catch is this glyph will affect all you other pet that you summon as well.
Yeah I hate the pet scaling not even the glyph is enough and the bat is one of the useful pets to have. They should of added the Blood crawg to this family flying pets are annoying.
