Before i stated that in a previous thread slyvanas getting a redemption is a horrible message. Well sufficed to say i was wrong if they can do it right (Its flimsy at best with blizzard writing) Then she can be redeemed. Just don’t do this for every character blizzard

Can we please stop insisting that Sylvanas is at all a great character after Cataclysm?
She was hamfisted into the role as Warchief for absolutely no reason other than that she’s subject to a ton of fan service. And then they wrote her off as not even caring about her role for anything other than to advance her own goals. They wrote her into becoming Garrosh 2.0 because they had no other direction to take her.

No redemption: she deserves to have her head put on a pike as a warning to future generations.
She has been actively trying to kill not only the Alliance, but all living creatures since Lich King.
What we deserve is a knock down drag out fight to give us opportunity to kill her!

Theyve already layed the groundwork. Uther only has half a soul thanks to frostmourne. and so should sylvie. THerefor Man-duan can reunite the two halves of her soul with his mighty sceptre and the power of human potential! The windrunners can finnally be complete in their human love.

Having different motivations does not make her any different.
Garrosh wanted Orc Supremacy. Sylvanas wanted eternal life.
Both were resisted by the people they supposedly led. Both were deposed as Warchief.
Different paths to the same end. Do not tell me it’s any different.

They already destroyed a perfectly good anti-hero for no reason, at this point I refuse to rp as if she exists, I ignore that entire plotline. Difficult as horde but I just concentrate on personal stories.

Made warchief for no reason other than fan service? Wouldn’t that literally be any other racial leader? Baine has some fans, they’re strange people but they do exist. The two elves got fans. Vol’jin had fans, where was this outcry for fan service then? Garrosh had fans, he STILL has fans ffs.
Okay now that we pointed out how pointless that first complaint was lets look at the others. They wrote her off as not caring about her role for anything other than to advance her own goals? Wrong. She did care for the horde, she did care to fight the burning legion.
Anduin was MIA from 99% of Legion as well. It’s not because the two faction leaders decided to do other things. It’s because Blizzard forgot they existed. Literally any other story would’ve had both of them in swift communication after broken shore, there’d be tension, but they’d still work together and move on. The whole story would be about how hard it is for both of them to work together and eventually build up until BFA where its proven that even if the world is at stake they still couldn’t be peaceful.
So even at the point where she invades Darkshore she’s still justified. Where things get messed up is how she decides to burn the city instead of capturing it. Then suddenly now she’s working for a jailer guy we never heard of until now to explain the dumb behavior she’s been showing since BFA launched. She never became a Garrosh 2.0 because Garrosh was busy trying to become the best warchief the horde ever had. The Sha corrupted his aggressive spirit and took advantage of him. He’s more of a lich king 2.0 than anything, trying to do something good for his people then gets corrupted by outside influences.
Sylv just 180’s at the start of BFA and she has no goal. Her goals are so mysterious even the writers themselves don’t know what they are yet. Literally anything could sprout from this because there is no foreshadowing. Just a vague tease at SOMETHING that could be ANYTHING once every expansion to pretend there’s foreshadowing. They make it just vague enough that they can turn it into whatever they want. She can be fully redeemed, she can be killed, she can be the new ultimate evil replacing Sargares, who knows…

She did say she would save us all after ripping a hole to Shadowlands. I’m not sure what the “saving” part consists of but she did say it.

Sylvannas is going to sacrifice herself by taking up the mantle of the Jailer after we defeat him, I can already see it.

Sylvanas had to be propped up by making other characters act out of character and brain dead to have any hope of her plans working. It’s such poor writing that it’s painful to experience. She’s been a joke of a character from Cataclysm to now. I could stomach her a bit in MoP because I disliked Garrosh more at the time, but she’s regressed as a character from complex anti-hero to super boring, simplistic minded villain. And any silly plot twist (like the “Who dunnit it’ll be a surprise!” burning of Teldrassil) isn’t going to feel good or fulfilling because they failed so epically with the plot leading up to her villainous reveal.
With a serious lack of foreshadowing or explanation in BfA, she’s simply another Warchief gone mad that needs to be put down. She and Garrosh are so interchangeable right now that it’s honestly bad that Blizzard managed to fail that badly at writing a story that they had to adopt beats from past expansions.
No, she doesn’t deserve a redemption. She’s one of the only characters I can think of that deserves exactly what she’s (hopefully) going to get, and that’s to be relegated to a farmable status in a raid. She won’t get that, because Blizzard loves their money making undead elf so much, but if the writers were good that’s what we would get.

Is it possible to redeem her without it being a ham fisted mess? Maybe. Is Blizzard capable of that level of writing? LOL… Not a chance. I have a higher chance of having the only winning ticket on the worlds first 3 billion dollar Powerball.
However, people should still dream of it happening if they want too. I will dream about my lottery winnings and the amazing kitchen I would build.
