Slowest class in retail?

I have played a small handful of classes in recent wow, WW monk, balance Druid, and now disc priest. Disc priest and balance Druid both heavily weight haste meaning I’m pressing a lot of buttons during encounters, and mostly playing m+ that means back to back encounters. I’m curious what people think is the slowest class/spec combo in retail is?(slowest as in longer casting, and fewer button presses) My hands aren’t as young as they once were so the main goal is reducing strain, so I’d also be happy to hear anyone’s input on that as well.

Orcs

Strong, but dumb as an orc.

I can’t find any really current numbers, just one from Dragonflight. That one had Devestation Evokers as the least amount of actions per minute. There were also Warlocks (all three specs), Marksmanship Hunters, and Elemental Shaman there below Windwalker Monks, which you’ve said you’ve already tried.

So if you’re looking for a less frantic playstyle, try an Evoker and see if that works for you.

Yeah I’d say Scalecommander Devastation Evoker.

I found simcraft for TWW which has APM. Devastation has lowest as you said. Most of the numbers between TWW and DF seem pretty similar, besides elemental being much higher.

Probably Evoker in some capacity, as you charge their spells instead of just mashing buttons like with most classes.

There’s no other class like it right now, too.

Evoker has lowest APM in the game.

SC Dev.

APM isnt everything when reducing strain imo. One of the reasons i play DH right now is because of hand soreness and cramping. It may have a steady APM, but mashing 1 2 3 4 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 isnt exactly strenuous.

I guess what Im saying is ez rotations are also easy on the hands.

DK has always felt traditionally slow… but they have talents to help that. Priests feel slow.

There’s two types of fast classes, too… there’s classes like shamans and hunters and druids (and monks forgot about them), that just have an always ‘go fast’ ability and then have a burst on TOP of that, and then there’s the classes like rogue and paladin that have mini-burst speed on short CD, and there’s classes like mages and warriors that just either blink or jump all over the place.

I didn’t forget locks, they run so fast they melt their shoes off.

I’m tempted to get a dancing mat for my Shaman’s inputs.

Right foot stomp, Healing Rain.

Left foot stomp, Unleash Life.

Butt drop down, Spirit Link Totem.

It’d be awful, but cool lol.

Devoker is easily the “slowest”. Your main ability will be either pyre spam or disintegration channel.
It also has the lowest amount of buttons too.
So if you want slower with a good amount of damage. Devoker.

Marks hunter isnt super fast either. Might be up your alley. It’s fun

Agreed with others. Scale Commander Devasatation Evoker is easily the simplest class in the game.

I have found Marks Hunter to be very slow and low apm. I actually specifically pointed it out in disc when I heard my ret pally friend clicking his keyboard and I was like “damn you have to press buttons pretty often” lol

Edit: for context; I have also been experiencing some joint pain as of late and it’s definitely a nice break from monk, and it kinda blasts in M+ and raid.

Arcane mage isn’t so bad

Warlocks are also low apm

I believe female dwarf rogue still holds the record.

SC Devoker, demon and destro warlock, are classes with a somewhat slow rotation, they are good to play relaxing your hands and using your mind more.

Winner: Devastation Evoker
Runner up: Marksmanship Hunter

Augmentation isn’t too bad either, some long casts make it pretty slow APM.
