Since probably 6/26 I’ve been having very slow load times with a SSD into Valdrakken. I have tried turning off add-ons, turning off other programs to no avail.

I am having the same issue
This needs more attention. I can’t find a fix and lag uncontrollably on top of the long loading screens. No other games do this.
It takes like minutes to load anything in WoW. It used to be under 10 sec for the same PC I have back in BfA (I skipped SL)
It’s not like the game looks better. Just slower and laggier every patch. WoW dev team is just not as good as they used to be. The game keeps devolving.
Load times as in the loading screen? If so, that’s probably server related. Your PC might have loaded everything critical within a few seconds, but the hanging is the client waiting on the server to give them the okay to drop the character in and display the world.
The other thing it could be is the WowVoiceProxy.exe timing out due to firewall settings. This has been an issue on and off for some people, mostly those that use strict firewall rules and settings. It’s located in the wow\retail\utils folder, I’d suggest whitelisting it for both inbound and outbound traffic.
After emergency maintenance on Tichondrius my problem appears to be solved.
