-The problem: Having to combo freedom with divine steed so you can actually get a little bit of distance when using Divine steed in PvP. This means pairing both mobility buttons together which creates many moments with no mobility at all. Also, we have to take 3 talents in the class tree just to get steed to its full potential, which we often cannot do in PvP, but none of them fix this issue anyway. Divine Steed also loses its uniqueness now that there is an exact copy of it on another class.
-A (potential) solution: Add slow immunity to the Unrelenting charger talent in the Templar Paladin tree. This talent makes it sound like steed will become unstoppable, but it doesn’t do anything in that regard when steed gets stopped by passive slows and active slows.
Another (potential) solution: Make Steed of Glory (prot pvp talent) classwide for paladin. This will help divine steed retain some uniqueness in comparison to the new Death Charger ability Dks are getting which is an exact copy of divine steed but better. It will also give slow immunity making it so we no longer have to couple freedom with steed.
Over time more and more specs have gotten direct slows, and even passive slows as well. We have to combo both mobility buttons in pvp (freedom and steed) just to have a few seconds of free movement until freedom inevitably gets purged by the plethora of specs that can purge/spellsteal. This feels bad and has felt bad since divine steed was introduced.
Regardless, divine steed has always felt bad in pvp because you either need to combo it with your only other mobility spell or just get slowed instantly on steed and barely move. We really need slow immunity for it now that a ton of specs are getting more mobility added.
