Slow down XP gain option in Interface?

So I know that the XP gain has an NPC in the Faction Main Cities to turn off XP gain for your character for 10gp. Is it possible to get an option NOT to disable XP, but rather slow it down by oh say 1/2?
Is it possible to get an option in Interface to simply slow down the XP gain as opposed to the rush rush rush rush to get to endgame content or simply dont level at all.
Some of us players especially old ones love the game for its lore and characters. The idea of going to the Faction City to enable or disable the XP gain is stupid imho. Why not slow it down at once then not have to rush back every time you need to stop the XP gain because you are leveling to fast.

And before you say “Oh just go play Classic” I want a leveling experience that enables me to level a character within a few weeks or so, not freaking a year. The combat in Classic is fun but also insane. Classic is the first time I’ve ever been killed in a starting area since I started back in WoTLK and the XP gain was negligible.

I would really like this.

Let’s say you want faster experience have the slider go the other way for 1/2 faster leveling over normal if you own all the heirlooms for the set bonuses.

I love the leveling in Shadowlands. The 1-50 stuff. Absolutely phenomenal right now, but it’s also the only part I like. Leveled a lot of alts, but I hit that effing Maw and I stop playing my character. I never thought I’d say I want 1/2 or 1/4 leveling speed as an option, but I do.

Ludicrous speed toggle option please

I told them they should have just added a slider. 25% 50% 75% 100%.
What is so hard about that? lol.
Oh…this is BLIZZARD we are talking about. They take NO advice from anyone LMAO

What’s the point? There’s nothing stopping you from continuing to quest where you want to quest just because you’re a higher level.

It would spread out the rewards making them more meaningful.

Not everyone wants everything now! now! now!

You’re not supposed to use leveling gear for end game content anyways

Theres not really a need to slow leveling

You still get the rewards from completing the quests/zones at the same rate. But I guess if you want slower talent acquisition I kinda get it.

It takes me forever to max a character… How fast are you gaining XP that you need to slow it down!?!

Leveling to cap takes about 20 hours right now, which is at least half as long as it used to take. I can definitely see people saying it’s too fast.

dude…compared to before the massive changes…leveling to max is a fart and a half, lol.
I can see lots of players wanting to slow it down again WITHOUT having to keep running back to the EXP NPC

MY question is…as always…If it DONT AFFECT YOUR game…why are you here worrying yourself about it? lol

I can’t speak for the dude you’re replying to, but there’s a certain enjoyment in actually feeling like you’re playing the game, and not just going god mode through hordes of mobs.

I’ve never been one to play with cheats either, because I like to feel the world interact with me, and it always feels better to play content at level. One reason I keep making alts to enjoy the game, because it’s not really something I enjoy going back and doing on a level 60 character.

So there is at least one thing stopping me from continuing to enjoy the questing experience of the old world. They introduced me to scaling, other MMOs do it as well, so it feels bad to not have the option to continue this feature after a certain level.

Huh?!!

Where did I mention leveling gear for end game content?

In point of fact, I was not referring to gear at all, I was referring to abilities. Nor was I was talking about end game anything, I was talking about open world questing.

To you, there is not really a need for slow leveling.

For me, for whom open world questing is the main game, there is definitely a need.

Bingo!!!

:cupcake: :cupcake: :cupcake: for you!!!

They should add a toggle for faster xp gains too.

at the very least they could let us flip exp on and off on the fly in the system panel or something…on the character page…anything. Imean, if they cant figure how to make a slider after going on two decades coding for the game, just put an on/off switch somewhere so players dont have to run back to the capitol city every dungeon and a half so they can control how fast theyre leveling IF thats what they enjoy.

what I said. :point_up_2:

what Ion heard
“we want faster leveling and please remove the EXP NPC entirely so we have no control at all”

dont you love it when people who have no vested interest in something…and that something has NO bearing on their game at all…just cant help themselves but fight for the cause that doesnt exist, lmao

lmao.
Current game sucks right now…so yeah…there IS a reason to want to level slowly so one can maybe ENJOY the content theyre playing without hitting max again in two days and without having to run back and forth to turn exp on and off.

Its not about end game…end game sucks…its about enjoying the OLD game that doesnt suck.
Since shadowlands bombed so miserably Ive leveled;

  • HM tauren druid to 49
  • Tauren druid to 49
  • DI Dwarf Mage to 49
  • DI Dwarf warlock to 49
  • Worgen warlock to 49
  • vulpera warlock to 53
  • vulpera warlock to 49
  • Vulpera warlock to 49
  • vulpera warlock to 49 (yes…another one…because its too fast and I aint running back to the exp NPC)
    Yes…FOUR vulpera locks at 49…
  • vulpera DK to 49
  • vulpera monk to 49
  • vulpera hunter to 49
  • vulpera shaman to 49
  • vulpera priest to 49

yeah…all that…and if I could easily have slowed exp down I could have maybe enjoyed running half that many for twice as long
