The mount in general can be fun but there’s a lot of mounts that don’t have a spacebar AFK action emote, like the Fox running around in a figure 8
Steam released a cat video game called Stray, there’s this hyped up Slime Cat mount, and it’s just a recolor and/or cosmetic appearance
When Blizzard Entertainment added the ability for the players’ head to turn and look at the very character the player had clicked on, the WoW community got the biggest kicks out of the smallest things
The art and advertisement WoW teams could do more with the Nether-Gorged Greatwyrm in that it barrel rolls, it falcon dives, it coils up into a vase basket, it breaths fire, where it might look good, here’s my money, and then after collecting the Slime Cat mount, goes into the collection collecting dust
On every character I have the Grand Expedition Yak for repairs and transmog purposes, and then for cosmetics, have every alt with the Fox, Zerethis Mortis giant patient frog, and their respective Legion class order hall mount
Alot of the mounts are like a hungry fish crawling into the krusty crab wondering what the theme of it is, like why not just update the Grand Expedition Yak to have max level items on the vendor?
Build upon the transmog your mount with weapons and armor aesthetic like Dragonflight, and a lot more player base transparency with WoW checking your gameplay, and if you haven’t played in awhile, a .API of sorts that guides you into collecting all the things
In Warlords of Draenor there’s a faction called Shatari Defense that isn’t even available in the Alliance Garrison tier 2 trading post until it’s been upgraded and that’s after grinding out the reputation and/or buying the Legion Medallions off the Auction House
Without googling it, we’d lose it
Suggestion: All 100+ reputations are given to the player, albeit grayed out, and like Chromie Time, just have a clear given path of work for this to get that
As it currently stands, just pick your own path, do a grind to max level 60, but building up your garrison, at the start, the Shatari Defense exalted reputation armored elephant mount has gotten lose, trying to escape through the gnome donkey portal, and as a gesture of good will, makes Shatari Defense an ally (instead of just randomly finding it upon expanding the garrison)
The Menethil Harbor ship could get cosmetic upgrades from the Garrison Shipyard and the Valliance Keep in Borean Tundra could get an exalted reputation update with a Nerubian spider mount which could shoot webs and we lava walk over Molten Core magma
I was extremely vexed buying all of the overpriced Legion Medallions off of the Auction House for Warlords of Draenor faction reputation for the exalted mounts, and even with the peach ! trivial classic quests available, there wasn’t enough of an incentive to clearly mark a guide of go here to get that discovered faction to get said rewards
Mists of Pandaria (and previous expansion packs) factions are the same way, in that which leads to what, and do I need to get at least Honored reputation level before unlocking the blue ! dailies - or even which mobs even give out said reputation
The game it to trivial in that do all the quests in said zones first and if you haven’t legit unlocked the Vale of Eternal Blossoms and been blind sighted into the specific quests to ignite the reputation vendor quest chains - when we can just fly over the wall - it can be very cumbersome to attempt to get the dragon and crane mounts
I’d compare it to the Culling of Stratholme instance, it’s the year 2022, and we’re still forced into watching a cutscene with Arthas, it’s not skippable, and it never changes
Just like there’s Chromie Time, but the Warlords of Draenor, Legion, BFA, and Shadowlands instances don’t have the dungeon quests at the start of the door, and have to grind out the entire zone just to get them where we’re likely max level by then anyway
Conjuring food for thought
