Slight trait favoritism?

I’ve always felt like Blizzard has some favoritism towards Alliance races.

I’m more focused on Mag’har vs Dark Iron at the moment, since they’re both the easier allied races to unlock and sort of counterparts.

I find it pretty disappointing just how sh***y the Mag’har’s active trait is compared to the Dark Iron’s. If you could set which secondary stat you gain then I wouldn’t make this topic but as is it’s quite terrible.

Now there’s no doubt that Mag’hars other traits are overall better, but marginally so.

Fireblood: Removes all poison, disease, curse, magic, and bleed effects and increases your primary stat by 100* (Scales on level I assume) for each effect removed. Lasts 8 sec. 2 min cooldown.

This is an INCREDIBLE active as far as I’m concerned. Couldn’t the Mag’har get a little more love?

Feel free to disagree with me and tell me why I’m wrong. I’m just looking to see the common opinion on this more specific matter.

Yes. Start with buffing their racials and adding eyebrows.

Alliance needs better racials until factions are balanced. This is intentional development. Horde had better mythic racials for a long time.

Personally I still love shadowmeld as an option. I don’t think Draenei heal is noteworthy. I rarely use my BE racial, in its current state, but many horde racials are still great. BElfs are very common so they weekends their racial.

Woah, take it easy dude, blizzard cannot handle that level of customization.

I mean, they gave them good posture.

Just roll Alliance…

That’s simply not an option for me.

Also, I do NOT want Blizzard to nerf Dark Iron. I like them a lot. I just would like to see Mag’har get some improvement.

If that is the only thing you have to complain about, consider it Blizzard’s gift.

It may not be an exciting on use Racial but if you check out Sim sites like Bloodmallet the difference in DPS between the races is like 1% from top to bottom no matter the spec.

The racials are incredibly balance numbers-wise right now.

did you know the jaina fight had to be nerfed because the troll racial “voodoo shuffle” was too good on it?

thought I’d just point that out.

I think there is something missing here though. Fireblood is such a good trait, I’d even trade two Mag’har traits for it as one.

And yet it’s not good enough to get anyone to reroll Alliance.

Makes a sweeping statement:

Then cherry picks the compared samples

So, Mag’har Orcs have pretty much some of the WORST racials in the game, given, and Dark Iron Dwarves have some of the best racials, but have you considered the Lightforged Draenei 1% resistance to Holy?

You (Blood Elves) used to have an AOE silence and now you have an AOE dispell, which after much complaining ended up being still pretty darn good.

My point is - don’t drive the conclusion that Alliance have a leg up on racials by cherry picking the absolute extremes.

Agreed that Mag’har orc racials are trash though. Mine is a warrior, so the Pet thing is already a bust. And the rando secondary buff is…I can’t even really tell if it does anything.

That was just my preface. There are a lot of amazing Horde traits.

I was focusing on how awful Mag’har is to their counterpart. It seems unfair to me.

Blood Elves used to have an AoE silence, though. USED TO. Yes, it was unfair. I never defended it. Even though I love my Blood elves.

Come back when you’re serious.

I’d swap Night Elf traits for my Blood Elf’s any day. I am totally serious. I promise.

I don’t doubt the sincerity of your personal desires, but making broad sweeping statements that ignore all visible evidence (ie: Horde content coming first, encounters being designed around Horde racials, the massive population imbalance and extra benefits being given to all Horde guilds) is just lying to everyone.

Hence, come back when you’re serious.

You’re avoiding what I made this topic about though because you’re offended by my preface. It’s just my opinion, I don’t feel TOO strongly about it.

However, I do feel strongly that Mag’har got the short end of the stick and definitely could use some help.

This is Blizzard. If they add something, they need to prune two other things in the name of “balance.”

I’m saying your preface comes from an inherently dishonest position, hence the rest of your message is fruit from a poisoned tree and can’t be considered.
