By Blizzard’s own logic and apparent direction of making classes more streamlined and removing button bloat, why is Slice & Dice still around?
Why is it not just 100% Passive, just adding more attack speed and refreshing its duration for every Finisher we use?
I fail to see the reasoning behind why this single button (Literally, a single press in raid encounters, just annoying for Mythic+) has survived the ‘Quality of Life’ pruning for Midnight.

yall dont read your abilities and it shows.
there already is a passive that makes slice and dice applied on finishers

Slice and Dice as a manual cast is huge for Outlaw. It lets us flip Fatebound Coin: Tails from ranged (most notable in PvP) and when we’re out of combat in all game modes (World, Delves, Raids, and PvP), we can Slice and Dice with a cancelaura macro for CDR in between pulls. Taking that away removes skill expression.

SND is huge for Sub too when needing to cast.
For less experienced player the semi-passive SND helps them but for veteran Rogues they can squeeze out more performance by casting when needed.

I understand how it works. It refreshes on finishers, but it doesn’t start with finishers.
For Assassination, it’s just an extra button that you press once or twice.
It starts when you hit: Eviscerate (Subtlety), Dispatch (Outlaw), or Envenom (Assassination)

I have no issues with current iteration of SnD and I like being able to manually cast it when I need to.
Now if we are talking about bloat the biggest offender for Sub is Symbols of Death purge this ability and move that functionality innately into Shadow dance = win
Overall the Sub changes starting to look sick, if they do the above then we set.
but it doesn’t start with finishers.
Also you say you understand how it works, but it does in fact give you the buff on the first finisher cast. So you don’t have to use it manually first it literally will give you SnD on your first finisher cast

… it is.
Just say you dont play a Rogue ffs. The button is there for those niche situations where you might have Combo Points yet SnD has fallen off and youre about to get into combat again.
It is already passive though.
I think it was back in Undermine? or prob even start of expansion that they made it so it gets applied from finishers, which also extend it.
So you pretty much have no reason to ever put it in your bars.

Highly skilled Rogues will still put on bars though.
It allows skill expression.

To click on. With a mouse cursor. On a moveover bar. Its not actually used.
Yes SoD is something that doesn’t make sense in the current direction of the game.
