Slayer should be named Blademaster

After playing with, the entire vibe i felt was a classic blademaster from warcraft 3, fast strikes tailored with bladestorm, a classic blademaster ability

Slayer feels out of place(especially in my region translation).

I guess they didn’t want to give the feel of needing to use the blade, for people who like mauls, but come on, i see all other classes with dope names, and the only one we got is Mountain thane(a nod to the mountain king unit), i see no reason to not have Blademaster

To bad, i don’t think this will be changed maybe until midnight, but it is a suggestion i giving now, love the gameplay, dislike the name

This is what keeps you up at night? lol… I think Slayer sounds cool

Why would you think this keeps me up at night?

It’s not called Blademaster because Blademaster’s other iconic abilities were Windwalk (Stealth + Movement Speed) and Mirror Image. Blizzard was unwilling to give either effects to Warrior, so it felt incorrect to call the hero talent Blademaster.

things can be reworked tough, avatar is very different from the war3 incarnation as it doesn’t grant you immunity to damage anymore, same way windwalk can give something other than invisibility

Relentless pursuit or vicious agility could be named after windwalk to emulate the fantasy of fast warrior

avatar wasn’t immunity to damage, but specifically immunity to magic damage, not to be confused with spell damage that heroes did.

Right, point is, in wc3 avatar gave you armor extra hp and spell immunity

In wow avatar only gives you 20% damage increase and removes roots/snares.

Its basically two different skills, with the same name, so i think it would be pretty safe to rename Relentless Pursuit to Windwalk by example

Magic immunity in wc3 was not spell immunity

Ok, not that it changes the point either way

So the point is you could just adjust abilities to be more in line with the theme. However if you’re changing 2 out of the 3 active abilities and morphing them to be something completely diffrent (Remmeber Blizzard was unwilling to give Warriors Stealth or Clones) when does it stop becoming Blademaster and become something diffrent entierly?

I’m really into metal music, but i agree with you, blademaster sounds so much better.

As long as the main ability, their ultimate is the same, and the feeling of the class stay the same, it doesn’t stop being a blademaster even if you rework two of their skills

As we saw blademasters in the game, they barely use those skills either, and, its in line with mountain thane also having different skills from the war3 mountain king.

I would go even further, cause blizz said the hero talents are here to stay, so i can picture they changing the talent tree in midnight to accommodate more into the blademaster thematic.

Im not a dev, so i dunno how it could work, but i can imagine something like the slayer’s strike be a illusion of your character striking and Relentless pursuit giving you stealth while gives you the 3 secs of bonus damage
