The quest line is weekly with no form of catchup. If you just rescued Jaina, you have to wait 2-3 weeks to rescue Thrall, and then you can get Signs of the Lion.
Currently, I have attempted twisting corridors layer 1 as a WW monk with the best maxed out legendary for my class, at an item level close to 200.
Floors 1-12 were perfectly fine, but after that it went to heck. At roughly 40 something powerups with a 5 second leg sweep (one power away from instant cast stuns,) I could not get past floor 15. The damage even at floor 13 was oppressive, while 14 was nightmarish. I only got a few steps into 15 before Mr. Big horns Magee came after me and ended my run. All of this in the time of 45 minutes. If this is the idea of mage tower levels of hard, then I fear layer 2 is for demi-gods among men. And layer 8 for God himself.
Not to mention the (placeholder) power up bug.
So as much as this was fun, a nerf is not just a suggestion, but perhaps mathematically a requirement, if any one wishes to clime the twisting corridors.
I am by no means a hard-core player, but this is insanity even at layer 1.

this is some of the worst content i ever played. i spent SIX hours trying to complete this 18 floor dumpster fire, only to get killed by being spawned into large packs from mandatory portals, pet AIs pulling mobs in rooms im not even in, and bosses that can one shot me from 75% health. frankly im wondering if this expansion is worth my sub.

False. If you actually want to progress in the main storyline you have to complete Twisting Corridors.
People seriously need to do research before spreading false info.
inb4 “technically it is optional”. Yep. Playing WoW or any video game is optional but the main storyline is pretty important if you want to progress on it.

Please make layer unlocks account wide.
I’ve unlocked 8 layers of normal Torghast on 5 different characters as it is.
Doing 18 floors per layer is a lot. If you decide you want to do Corridors on an alt that’s an insane amount of extra BS to go through to unlock more layers.

Did L1 with 210% + 59% intellect and 75k HP buffed as holy. Did not know its 18 floors and went past my bed time clearing it. As usual, have to endure it. Its still boring. Last boss at 1.8M HP too.
Just one thing: finishing a layer of Twisting Corridors should max out our weekly soul ash without needing to go through the other 2 easy wings
Actually, another thing: Please don’t nerf it for at least a month, so those of us who enjoy a challenge can have our fun

What rewards? My son and I cleared all 18 floors. Took a little over 2 hours and got nothing.

Luckily I didn’t actually need to full clear it to finish the quest, just had to restart and get the 3rd clue from the 6th level boss.

Here’s the thing. Put in better cosmetic rewards and mounts that aren’t a gawdawful travesty to look at and I’ll consider it.
Otherwise? Not worth my time.
An odd thing happened on my alt that is 1 week behind. I picked up the Thrall quest today, saved him, and when I turned his quest in I immediately (and to my surprise) received the Anduin quest.
Not sure if that’s intended or not, but if you’re only a week behind it’s a good thing.
yeah no thanks after wasting my time on 17 levels of that abomination, i cant be bothered to do it again

For the amount of effort required to do Twisting Corridors, do you really think those rewards are appropriate? Getting stingy in your old age, Blizz. Reminds me of the elderly neighbor that offered to pay my son to pull all the weeds around his house, then gave him a crisp one dollar bill.
