Whats hardcore about wow? This game has no hardcore elements left anymore. Vanilla and TBC now those were hardcore. Now its all given to you. Almost any guild with capable players can clear Mythic Raids sorry but we are all casuals in a now casual game.
Shadowlands does feel very unrewarding atm. The callings are pretty much junk. The bonus areas are the definition of wasting time. Mythic plus rewards feel pretty low. The only activity that seems to be worth the time is raiding. Shadowlands is very much a raid or die expansion.
I donât think its the fact that someone is to casual to clear raid content so much as to much anxiety for most to hop in a pugs comms and do mechanics.
Agreed I work 48 hours a week and I have had time to lvl 2 characters to 60 one is in ilvl 186 gear.
Probably because Dungeons have far more mechanics and the higher you go the more you need an organized group preferably on Voice coms.
In Vanilla and TBC you just needed bodies.
This is false. I am really enjoying the slower gearing where upgrades feel useful, and it seems like the majority of my guild is enjoying it as well. Titanforging was a disaster, and the trade off for getting rid of Titanforging is to slow down loot drops. It was not fun to be halfway through the mythic raid and the only thing that could be an upgrade from the bosses you havenât killed yet was if the item titanforged and rolled a socket.
I know it feels weird right now after the loot vomit of Legion and BFA, but overall this is a good change.
However I will say this it is extremely hard to find the right guild as a new player. Btw servers up. Hyjal for life!
You can do 4 Mythic dungeons for a guaranteed piece of 213 Heroic loot.
Theres your 25% drop rate. So, like, are you done now? are you finished?
I hadnt quite completed my 1000 anima for the week. I didnât realize they would delete my near done and just make me reaccept at zero. Why punish someone that has a busy work week and didnât finish wow chores? I realize when I donât finish the callings in time they go way, but they seem to want you do do a certain amount of time in game, but not extreme amounts, kind of like your parents on one side and elitist Jenrks on the other.
I thought they created classic to cater to the hardcore bunch? To be honest, Iâve played every expansion since Vanilla and things started going downhill after WotLK. There are more chores in the game than there is fun. Also, the player community has become downright toxic. I guess Blizzard doesnât think highly enough of people that donât have 40 hours a week to sit home and play wow to make it fun and engaging for them. Some of us have lives, families, jobs, etc. Without casual subscriptions, WoW would probably lose half their player base or more. There is no reason why making the game fun and playable for casual has to âruin the gameâ for hardcore people. Despite all the âGear raining like candyâ, casual are not competing at the same level as hardcore people and they are not competing for the same goals like world first or server first. A team of casuals is hoping just to clear content as far as they can, even if it means only getting AoTC each tier. Casuals fun comes from improving their own performance and raiding with their friends. I hope blizzard rethinks their wrong headed approach to this game as I see lots of casuals hitting a wall and then deciding to leave as they do not want to deal with toxic people they encounter in even low level mythic + and normal raids.
Braiiiins! Braaaaiiiiinnnnssss!
Add the entire way gear is handled and PVP. 197/200 is too low of a ceiling restrictionâŠin order to compete at this point you need to be in a great rated team or raiding PVE. Iâm iLVL200 and get 1-shot killed in PVP, whereâs the appeal to even do PVP when thereâs no skill required? Gear > Skill right now and it makes PVP stupid.
They chased away this one. My sub ran out in February.
You still here though?
I still read the forums occasionally, yes.
Fact: The game was most successful when it catered to casuals and least successful when it catered to raid loggers.
Fact: Raid loggers complain, but still play when the game caters to casuals.
Fact: Casuals can and will ditch for other games until WoW gets their act together.
I dont have a sub, but I still can post.
OMG, looking at this post again months later, I really appreciate it. It foresaw all the gearing issues that casual players and busy players on their alts would experience.
And now we have a new patch 9.0.5 that certainly helps with covenant ability and anima powers balance, and the improvements to gearing through Mythic+ are certainly a welcome change, but Blizzard has done absolutely nothing to improve the gearing situation for casual/solo players.
Itâs like the possibility doesnât even exist that people donât want to do raiding/rated PvP/Mythic+ on all their toons, or at all, and the game has already been over for themâŠ
crazy the last time I unsubbed twice during BFA it asked me for time in game to post.
oh and currently SL systems are awful.
You have several avenues of gearing up. Warcraft has difficulty tiers. Once you hit certain milestones you have to keep going to get better gear.
