I skipped shadowlands and am now going back for kicks and setting up a mission table for occasional pet charms. I have a companion who’s now L52 and so are the troops. No charm missions and the missions available are marked with a 12 or 6. What am I missing? Do I need a certain number of companions at a certain level before charm missions start showing up?
Naturally, being World of Warcraft, there’s a grind involved.
Don’t know the exact numbers needed but as you acquire and level up multiple companions over time you start seeing better rewards. I just dropped by my Covenant to check and saw only one Pet Charm mission available. A good one, 23 charms from it, but was a level 46 mission.
I reached my top level of Renown for Revendreth, and I never saw a single mission for pet charms.
I created an Undead Hunter and went through Shadowlands with him, thinking I’d just go through it and pick up the pets. Because there are a lot of pets to be had in Shadowlands if you just do the grind.
What do I wish I did differently?
I wish I had taken a max level toon, instead of a level appropriate one. Shadowlands, without flying, is a pain. Even more so than BfA. Which is all part of the Devs’ design to keep us logged into content as long as possible, while creating as little content as possible.
Now that I finally have flying (at least in the four major zones), any more grinding will be done with a level seventy who’s powerful enough to just breeze through the content. Shadowlands isn’t fun and if I’m going to slog through it, then I’m doing it with something that can just AoE all the mobs, like a Mage with Arcane Explosion, or a Priest with Holy Nova.
The adventure table has its own “campaign”, which is a predictable series of table missions that spawn after you get enough companions leveled up enough.
There are 20 of them (I think) and a lot of the better reward missions are locked behind completing them.
