SL is Unsalvageable, Just #PullThePlug and Move On

Why do you think the next expansion would be an improvement?

The current trend is to get worse every new expansion.

I would argue that for the last 4 expansions rating from worst to best it would be 1423.
With WOD being the worst followed by BFA

But all 4 being a nose dive from the game prior.

I enjoyed WoD better than SL.

I think 6 years has fogged your memory of the year long content drought.
We wont even go into the wreck that garrisons made of the social aspect of the game.

Some people just aren’t cut out to be in their current line of work, there’s nothing wrong with that. An sometimes those people need to be let go not constantly promoted…

Nope, that is all SL is a content drought.

Corporate mentality Ragman…promote to the level of incompetence.

Based on current projections, 1 content patch in 16months puts it way below that dumpster fire that was WOD.

Since the release of Shadowlands, I’ve been noticing knock-offs such as Vampire War, Age of Vampires, Vampire Land.

I am not sure what’s triggering numerous cheesy Vampire Mobile Game RPGs to pop up but it’s been a trend in the Android App store.

WoD had a pretty good questing experience though. That alone makes me rank it above SL.

SL as a game that is not part of the Warcrat franchise is not bad. The expectation gap of what the Devs wanted to deliver and what players wanted from the game is the issue that the designers ignored (and continue to ignore) since Alpha.

I think it feels the worst it has since wrath, my issue is that “the world” is supposed to be Azeroth, the story was iconic as being a conflict between mortal races “orcs vs humans” or horde vs alliance - this new trajectory of cosmic horror fantasy without the grounding of our mortal characters perspective just feels bad or at the least foreign from the experience we want to play… like wanting to watch a great action movie but getting a romantic comedy, the problem is not the quality of the movie is just not the movie we wanted.

I think its a stall tactic, they cant just throw out a new expansion, they need to buy time till they can develop one. Everyone knows how bad the game is right now, its under 2 million subs, heck they are even bringing back mage towers as a last ditch effort to try to get players back. That should tell you how dire things have gone for the game.

I think 9.1.5 will make the game more tolerable (and how the 9.0 should have launched). I don’t think it will draw players back in, too much competition FF14 and GW2 have xpacs dropping right?

Yup, then throw your hands up in utter confusion as to why the game continues to plummet at an alarming rate…

They bailed on WOD in Beta, SL’s has been basically all hands on deck and its been an even worse disaster…

ESO just had another of their yearly updates as well. I don’t think the current dev team has it in them (not sure if its staffing numbers or knowledge) to pump out content at that rate.

I just remember taking 6 months to a year off from WoD and coming back with it still being unengaging. With SL I still do Mythics/world questing/occasional raid.

For those that don’t know, Abomb hasn’t actually uninstalled… literally seen him multiple times in epic BGs the past few days

I even posted a screenshot of his brand-new Druid alt in one such BG (feeling lazy, you can just sift thru my profile to find the post).

And yes, he does like to troll :slightly_smiling_face:

You can always go play The Boring Crusade

From what my friend tells me its more like the The Botting Crusade…

I believe that there is a seed of potential remaining in the expansion–especially with the change of direction indicative in the soon to arrive changes of 9.1.5. Perhaps 9.2 will see it grow and blossom?

Or perhaps not. Regardless, due to numerous delays, I would be surprised to see a patch 9.3 come to fruition.

They had their bread and butter but also wanted every entree on the menu without fully investing into what makes it taste good. So we’re eating chocolate lava cake with our lobster and getting some sprinkles of the bread and butter under it. And just… just stop. Go back. Keep the menu simple and invest in what made it great.

SL with how classes feel and the overall dynamic of world design and storytelling feels like a fever dream.
