SL is similar to BFA! Only it as a diff flavor on it. 🍦

I can see a common trend here, blizzard!

Just like BFA they promised many things. War this and that but sadly we were helping someone’s problem, throughout the expac.

Only in the end, we got what we wanted but it was limited. Also, the war between the alliance and horde, we wish for like forever like having revenge for the Night elf’s homeland, but what we got was a poor version of it, and that was in the form of WarFronts. A real joke, I say…

So, SL seems to be heading in the same direction.

  • Anima=Azerite,
  • Lich king=Magni, ( or someone who would represent like Magni )
  • 4 Zones= Zandalari and kul humans zones,
  • Covenant = rep grind for the factions in BFA, * Lastly, The main story of sylvanas might be push aside till 2022 on some obvious random raid like how we got for Queen Azshara.

I want covenant wars and there was a hint regarding convenants fighting eachother, but I guess that might be on the mission table. Now, that’s sad…

Honestly, this seems accurate. Specially the 4 zones thing. What happened to 6 or more Zones? And you also can’t fly between the zones, they’re self contained instances.

Cool. I really liked BFA. I’m down with this.

For quite a while now Blizzard has been following a formula set out by WoD and refined by Legion.

It’s not much of a surprise that Shadowlands will continue the trend.

Anima unlike Azerite has a weekly cap. Unlike right now where some overachievers just continue to grind and grind so that you get those tiny incremental benefits, Anima (I don’t even think that’s what it is, more of a currency than a personal progression system like AP or Azerite) has a weekly cap where you can actually say “My main is done for the week”
We get 4+ zones every expac I don’t see how this is an issue??
Bolvar + Magni. Well I mean, we can’t just go into the shadowlands without someone who knows SOMETHING about where we are going. Also he is pretty damn strong in his own right.
Covenant + Idk about it JUST being a rep grind but it does have other actual systems tied to it so I would say Covenant’s JUST being a rep grind is a bit of a stretch.

I has to reinstall the blizzard client just now to even find out Shadow Lands is coming out. No one is talking about it outside these forums. BFA left such a bad taste people pretty much wrote wow off as done.

Well unfortunately it’s been a none stop controversy ride. While some people like to pinpoint Blizzcon 2019. Which of course was a whole different level. There has been so many other different ones beforehand… I can’t recall if the phone incident at Blizzcon happened in 17 or 18 to be honest. Either way there is even more stuff that is controversial that I am not even typing about, that has happened the past couple of years.

Still I can look at the larger picture and notice it has been like this pretty much in the first month of BFA launch. With people being unhappy (lots of negative feedback) with certain aspects of the game.

Now, I don’t know if this is a new age media thing of shock factor going on with Blizzard. Or just genuine missteps. Either way I dislike shock factors. I would imagine a lot of people don’t enjoy it as much as the media thinks.

Otherwise it would get a huge backing financially. It does the complete opposite (numbers don’t lie) and I would like for it to stop. I know I can’t be the only one who feels this way. More so in our video games.

Sure it can draw some attention for a short amount of time and I think this the motivation behind this, but still people will not support certain products like this. Also the videogame will have next to no resell value in many years to come. The logic behind this makes no sense to me because think of how many resells or remakes of games we have today.

Sadly we can see that many games are still continuing this trend. I think a lot of us would just like it to stop and get back to having fun.

I completely digressed there but either way if Blizzard manages to pull off a fun game (expansion) that people actually enjoy to play. I think some people would be willing to overlook some of the past shock value they tried pushing on us. (A certain item breaking comes to mind.) That was inside the game. Not the bombardment of crap from the outside. Ultimately it will come down to how fun Shadowlands is to play.

To be fair when done right it’s not bad. Just like Dadgar in Legion. I loved Dadgar.

We need more Khadgar. They should’ve let him teleport Dalaran into the Shadowlands like he wanted. :frowning:

I’d be down for that. I wouldn’t care to have Dalaran as the main hub for a third expansion. It’s a good city.

4 zones…but BfA had 6 zones to start? Or 3/3. I’m confused by every single one of these comparisons tbh.

I mean it’s pretty much been the same thing for the last 15 years.

It’s almost like it’s an expansion on top of what already exists. Wild.

Also SL has 5 zones plus 1 city zone.

Didn’t you make this exact post? Or someone else did? I remember seeing another post like this and it’s almost a copy-paste. Remaking it won’t change the response.

Edit: Reread. This is a copy paste of another post. I think by the same person too. So again:

… the thing in alpha still. Far to early to make that claim

Alpha in WoW is basically late Beta in other games though. We won’t see major, sweeping changes to base game systems no matter how much backlash they get. Where do you think the “it’s only alpha, it’s only beta, they’ll fix it in x.1, etc.” meme came from?

That being said, the fact that they’re listening at all this time, and the player feedback already being much more positive at this point than it was for BFA, gives me hope.

I remember bfa beta. Were lore and the devs ignored all the feedback regarding classes and azerite. Boy that certainly didn’t come back to bite them.

Hey lore what was that post you deleted that you said we were right about azerite?

I’m afraid you’re the minority, though good on ya if you enjoy this, if SL shapes up to be BFA 2.0 I’ll be taking a break. Avoided the preorder for that reason.

That’s fine. I’m use to it. I don’t think less of anyone for not liking something just because I like it. Heck, I like MoP too. I haven’t gotten my preorder yet but I probably will. Character boosts might make it worth it since I’m probably going to be playing unless something drastic happens.
