I wanted to throw in a little positivity here by saying that the new dungeons of shadowlands are really wonderful! They are very fun and creative. De Other Side has to be my new favorite of all time. The whole feeling of it with the sounds and the dialogue is great! Then we have things like the mother of plagues voice acting… omg it’s awesome.
What’s your favorite new dungeon?

Its crazy because I dislike “De Other Side”. Its too ungrounded from reality.

Shadowlands is definitely winning dungeon designs. I’m personally fond of Tirna Scithe simply because the maze is a wonderful little mechanic. People might dislike it, but I rather enjoy the short little game of figuring out the correct path. I don’t know, it gives my brain a break from the rush rush rush mentality where I only focus on my bars. Plus over all the dungeon is fairly easy and forgiving.
I also actually like Spires of Ascension, even if I disagree heavily with its use in the story and the wasted potential of Devos after dedicated the Kyrian cinematic to her. The fact she could easily have taken Lysonia’s place and been relevant for longer makes me sad. It also feels like an unfinished fight, but maybe that’s just me.
Over all though, these dungeons are leaps and bounds superior to BfA’s.

These (collectively) are the worst dungeons they’ve ever designed imo.
That being said, I think that it is more to do with the new affixes and the covenant specific bull that I don’t like rather than the dungeons themselves.

Yeah I think Sanguine Depths and Plaguefall are the best dungeons WoW’s ever had!

Try sanguine depths on a fort/bolstering or fort/storming/prideful week as a pug.
Its aids, pure and simple. Got my ksm and never going back to SD. also pugs are horrible now. Melee are screwed and too many boosted/carried people in the world now.
Tirna Scithe is one of my favorites. So much fun and a little unique! De Other Side is unique, too. Thanks ugh I hate the list boss. No one can go through portals.
My slow Paladin legs have came up sort of the portal before.
There’s a decent cast time on it and you has speed boost.
Edit: I mean, don’t get me wrong, mistakes happen. But every time I pug it, the entire group literally just stands there wailing on him and doesn’t even move. lol

Mists/NW/HoA
Rest are aids for one reason or another. Cant stand the maldraxxus places or SD bs second boss.
The ones i like are probably the easier ones so guess im just lazy lol

I know! I know!
Takes a another dirt nap anyways.
I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Lol
I tunnel vision a LOT. I get it. But I’m usually the healer, so as long as something doesn’t one-shot me, I can usually recover from my own oops moments.

It is unfinished. They took some kind of mechanic out that allowed the Archon to be killed. We don’t know exactly what the previous iteration looked like but we know there’s left-over game data which suggests it was hastily changed.
Yup, Devos has to be the worst end-boss of them all. Just slow and tedious with not much going on. I think if it had like one more mechanic during the “main” phase it’d be better. Just spit-balling, but for example say a mechanic that spawns a pair of slow-moving “Shadow of Doubt” that fixate on players and if they reach their target you get the “Lost Confidence” debuff. Kite them, kill them, push phase ASAP, use a soak on them, let them reach you and then Mass Dispel, there’d be a lot of counter-play here but it’d add just enough to add some dynamic play to the fight.

Spoken like someone that plays as a human in a fantasy world.

I’ve oddly grown more fond of MoP’s light-hearted dungeons more as time has passed.

Setting that specific Devos fight aside, I think just about all of the other end-bosses work on Mythic difficulty and I think all of the dungeons are pretty fun. I think this expansion, as a complete package, has the best set of dungeons as a whole. That one final boss in Spires may be meh, but like beyond that almost all of the last boss fights feel good and don’t have major scaling issues in standard range of play after the various, and I think the trash encounters are largely solid. Solid flavor, solid bosses, solid trash, just all around really really good stuff.

Agreed. I also thought that getting 8 dungeons was way easier to learn than the 10 we got in BFA. I always felt like there were a couple dungeons I just never wanted to go into in BFA (Siege & Tol Dagor) but now I’m comfortable with all 8 of these without even playing as much as I did in BFA.
Youre a human with long ears, Elf.
As far as the layout, story, artwork, voice acting, basic boss mechanics, then yes, I agree. Shadowlands’ dungeons are very well done indeed, except that IMO they feel too short.
However, what I do not like is the clear emphasis on e-sports. I have come back to Shadowlands after sitting out since mid-Cataclysm so I had not encountered M+ before now. And I pretty quickly have grown to despise M+, especially Pugging.
