Skytouch vs Skyreach

I was looking into making an undead monk. The only difference between these 2 talent selections is Skyreach pulls the Monk closer to the target. Other than that, the talents are exactly the same. It’s hard to understand why this expansion has pointless content like this talent and harder to understand why, after so long, it has remained unchanged in the subsequent patches…

Skytouch is for pve, skyreach is for pvp is the general rule.

But there may be some situations where skyreach is useful in pve.

Probably pug timewalking dungeons are a good reason to use it. Mythics too. Everybody has ants in their pants these days.

Dont draw generalizations from how the devs treats windwalkers. Retribution paladins and vengeance demon hunters also exist in their current iterations.

Skyreach is nice because it yoinks you into melee range, but you have to be careful with it. Since Tiger Palm is our primary Chi generator, it can pull you into a boss’ AOE, and that’s bad. Monks are squishy.

They probably originally only had one version, but realized some players may not want the added movement effect, so added one option without it.

because monks were accidentally committing floor pov constantly with skyreach

Some monks love the ability moving you closer.
Some monks dont like it.
So blizzard gave the player a choice.
Seems fair to me.

I’ve seen raid builds that take skyreach instead of skytouch, it’s nice to be able to get back in range with ease until you’re trying to dodge something and you rush back into it. I agree, definitely not a PvE talent.
