Skyriding races in TWW

So, does anyone else feel like the base level races got (mostly) harder this expansion? In DF, I could get a gold on most of the basic races the first time through, but now, on most of them I seem to have acquired a talent for finding obstacles with my face.

Anyone else find that the races are harder so far (at least on the first several tries), or did I just forget what it was like to learn the DF ones?

It is much easier than DF, only 2-3 of them is a bit hard.
I think the real question is why do we have these? Expansion features —> skyriding really?
We did this, we do not need this anymore.
