Do you know how ridiculous you sound justifying discrimination against people differently abled. If skyriding is available then there is no reason - as in none - that standard flying shouldn’t be available.
The levelling process in TWW requires flying (skyriding or standard). There are some quests you can’t get to without flying. The levelling process in expansions up to dragonflight did not - and they justified the delay after cata on the basis of wanting people to not be able to ‘cheat’ on jump puzzles or climbing trees for treasures etc. and in those expansions you levelled on a ground mount.
But keep up your ridiculous discriminatory anti-standard flying access approach. Obsessed much for no reason?
If you really feel it’s discrimination, then you should stop giving them money until they adjust. But it’s not discrimination. You can make the argument the choice is dumb. Sure. But it’s not discrimination.
dragonflying needs to be a choice that can be turned off for us oldies, not a requirement, sometimes you’re just mounting up to dive down 80 feet away, needs to be slow options if it’s going to be replacing the old way of flying, or at least, get rid of the stamina bar
I have an issue with “dynamic flying”, is that everywhere in the world I get like 300 FPS (based on the ingame FPS mousing over the settings button), but when I hit a congested area like Valdrakken, my FPS tanks to a single digit FPS and I watch an animated game go into slideshow mode skipping 9 of every 10 frames until I eventually slam into a wall or building and slowly squeak down to ground level like a looney tunes character.
Its much easier for me to deal with on a standard flying mount when dealing with city hubs and congested areas out about in leveling zones.
Allowing me or anyone else the option right out of the game rather than hoops and rigamarole to unlock, does nothing to make other players experience worse, it just makes a select players experience better. All pros, no cons.
Believe what you will, I wish I could stream you my experience because I know you would just hand wave screen shots. I do mean 300 FPS, well according to Blizzard frames fluctuate between 250-300 on their little tooltip, then drops to 3-5 as soon as I hit an area with a lot of people or a lot of particle effects, then goes choppy choppy for a few moments until the game ‘catches up with me’ and eventually evens out.
Warcraft is the only game I have that seems to require me to shut down all non-essential programs on my computer to play properly without issue.
there are limiters you can enable that limits framerates in the game, go to graphics, and set fps to 60, problem solved, also helps to m,odify framerates on your monitor if it can do 250fps
There’s zero reason not to let people use old flying from the start, especially when you consider accessibility options. Another case of “you think you do, but you don’t,” and it’s another case where everyone except Blizzard knows Blizzard is wrong
They really are huge fans of shooting themselves in the foot out of sheer stubborn pride
looking at the skyriding announcement thread, it is more “mixed” then small. Mixed meaning between 40%-60% who prefers one or the other. If I’m a betting man, I’d say it’s closer to 45%-55% of either side.
It started off with like 70%+ in support of DR aka dynamic flight aka skyriding at the start of Dragonflight expansion but it started to drift downward toward 50% in support of DR aka dynamic flight aka sky riding.
I have told people why BlizZard is digging into the mud on this issue and making the mud a fashion choice.
BlizZard did NOT meet their METRICS for player participating in DR aka dynamic flying aka skyriding.
So, they will ARM twist players to PARTICIPATE in DR aka dynamic flying aka skyriding to justify the investment.
But it will backfire like it always does.
BlizZaard doesn’t know how to take the easy wins but turns them into big fat L’s.
