So after a friend sat in a 4 hour que, with 0 warning, Skyfury was locked on him before he could create a toon where another 12 of us are playing together. Fix your server issues this is appaling behaviour and there has been such a lack of love for classic servers (that are carrying the subscription numbers) from the devs. He paid for 6 months and is now out of luck. Shame on you

this is really stupid. Retail should’ve been killed (or mothballed for legacy) a while ago. Classic is the only game in town. What an embarrassment for the devs who are managing the [rapid] decline at Blizz.
My friends and I may actually leave BEFORE Wrath plays out. It’s a new _hit show every day

That definitely sucks that your friend sat in a 4 hour queue just to be unable to create a character! Maybe they could simply disallow people who don’t have characters on locked realms from queuing into them.

Hahahahahahaha, no. Classic fizzled out so they had to bring in TBC. TBC fizzled out so here comes wrath. Classic isn’t carrying anything and with all the headaches it’s bringing Blizzard I would suggest they just shut up shop and go back to focusing on retail. Taking development away from retail for a side game makes no sense.
I just had the same issue, it is so annoying. I sat on this queue for 4 hours just to find out i cant create a character there. All other big pvp ally servers are closed and I don’t wanna play Horde as I already play it in retail. It feels amazing to pay for a service and be disrespected as a customer.

Sorry to hear that. Locked hopefully means they’ll make another new one available.
If only Blizzard could use all its money to do so in a timely manner, and maybe communicate better with its customers.
So make alliance on a PvP server where they’re not 99% of the server? Why would you want to be on a PvP server, of there’s no one of the opposite faction on the server?

yes, if you have a character on that realm, you’ll be able to create new ones. They are locking new players (those with no character on the realm) from joining it. That said, it’s pathetic this is the lazy “solution” Blizzard has implemented, killing the main purpose of Classic, which is playing with your friends/bringing back the feeling of community.
However, you don’t see them locking also the option to buy the epic version of Wrath, even to show goodwill toward players as in say: “we won’t take any EXTRA money from our community until we fix our problems”.

While I am empathetic to your friends time, and that he won’t be able to play with you guys, this was a great move by blizzard. They should have done this a while ago, as like you stated, it was 4 hours for him to log on. We are full, we don’t need more people. He had 2 weeks to sub/create a toon on the server. At this point, you guys should be able to easily go to a different realm to play together, as you have the same time you spent, to prepare for WOTLK together.
Good job blizzard, thank you for finally listening and doing the smart choice and locking the server to prevent additional queue times.

They need to open 2-3 more new servers on USEAST and WEST, and merge them once it dies down.
