curious. with the atrocious nerf to skullflame shield. I’m assuming pld AoE farm is no longer viable at any reasonable pace?
not sure why they’d change it tbh. It wont be viable to farm in open world with the amount of bots/chinese gold farmers, just camping node locations indefinitely. and that’s before you count the rest of the players. without solid instance farms which in this case is lvling other players, theirs no realistic way to make gold in any amount of time. . . and you’ll need a plethora of it (to buy leather for drums, cause the “nerf” to drums is really just a “make them slightly more inconvenient, but still mandatory”. . now it’s just all 25 players need leatherworking instead of 20. in case someone gets missed out of the stack.)

Paladins can boost just fine with the buffs given to them in TBC with or without skull flame.
skullflame looks to be the primary way to do it. or was. with a spellpower build. . the reflect build you don’t have anywhere near the same level of sustain it seems. so you’re forced into much much smaller pulls… . at least that’s how it seems. but I don’t play pld heavily so idk. . . . without the skullflame shield spell power coeffecient sustaining you. aren’t you forced to deal with spell pushback on flash of light. and with that costing mana things need to die to consecrate/reflect before you go oom. . .
Via the Hobbs method a paladin with skullflame can boost players through SM, taking all drops and charging people gold for the run.
Didn’t they revert the nerf?
but last i checked skullflame was nerfed extremely heavily unless they decided to reverd that. . to a very low co-effecient if what I’m seeing on arlaeus’s video holds weight.
I thought the shield to use was now the sporregar one.

Skullflame shield isn’t as good as https://tbc.wowhead.com/item=25828/petrified-lichen-guard regardless of whether or not skullflame is nerfed.
So yeah, paladin AoE farming is still going to be BiS for gold making.

Skullflame shield was never good unless you literally had no gear at all or have no idea what your strafe keys are.
Petrified Lichen guard and Force Reactive Disk(hint you can have multiple and swap them out when they are low dura) have always been better. Just because you saw Wowhobbs do something with the shield in a video 15 years ago, doesn’t mean it was the best way to do it.
i wasn’t referring to hobbs. . i was refering to arlaeus who does powerlvling pretty frequently. so generally a judgement i take as at least mildly trustworthy on the effeciency of it. . . which was specifically skullflame shield paired with a spell power build, since it has (had, unless reverted) a very high sp coeffecient. so you’d get procs healing you for 600-700 pretty frequently on large pulls. which paired with the breastplate meant you didn’t need to cast any self heals really. not in most cases at least. . .
arlaeus is wrong also. learn to strafe and you do not take damage, because you block the damage with your shield.
You can do the exact same pulls as a warrior in TBC, once you get a decent amount of block, you will just kill them a bit slower. No spell power required.
