im very new to arena. ive dabbled in them here and there… ive played this game for the past 15 years but i dunno man i am willing to bet i havent even done 1000 arenas in those years.
since i have no xp / achieves all i can do is yolo groups, and if i cant do that all i can do is practice in skirms
lol. man… the people u meet in skirms…
this rogue does 2k dps, dies in 10 seconds and calls us all garbage… doesnt stop there… whispers me like 5 times after the skirm and even says to kill myself. where these people coming from yo? ive done like 50 rated yolos in the past few days and i literally never encounter 1 toxic person, but skirm? holy moly man… these people have so much hate in their heart lol.
was it always like this?
maybe this is why arena seems so dead? the casual player tries a skirm… loses and gets death threats… lol.
in reality you will find way better people in rated. i dont understand this game man. i know i suck but damn i dont think i need to be told to KMS
People are awfully rude in any form of PvP you go into. It’s the reality of anonymity on the internet. Pay them no mind and just keep playing. If some brain dead retards wants to flap his gums after doing barely any DPS and throwing the game by dying early then just ignore him. It’s not like his opinion matters anyways.

yeah, i know. i agree entirely.
its just weird how it happens in skirms sooooooooo much.
like literally had a ret pally basically do the same thing last night lol.
but wen i do rated yolos… nobody ever says anything mean… which is weird because… i guess… the stakes are higher? idk.
anyways… stupid thread, im sorry. im drunk and bored… sitting in q for 45 min trying to make a group lmfao i just come to forums and post nonsense. im sorry. mods plz lock / delete thread
I had a rogue tell me, on my disc priest around 1750 mmr, that because I didn’t dispel him from chaos Nova on his vendetta goes against an enemy disc priest who had crowded on me and also caught me in the same Nova that I was just chewing through his rating and throwing games.
He didn’t once swap to the DH, slow , snare, blind, or anything. He just tunneled the enemy healer and complained it was hard to survive when my no corruption disc priest was being chased down by a 470+ DH in 2s.
Point being: people are stupid. Just don’t worry. Toxicity is everywhere. Do your best and have fun, screw everybody else.

I’m always running skirms man, you can hmu if you want. I play my fire mage, 467 ilvl. It generally takes 300-500 arenas to get my awareness back, so kinda think about that. I’m still on that same grind of trying to get good, so all patience here haha.

People generally suck in all walks of life.
Your best bet is starting a 2s lfg and advertise “learning arenas” and you might find similar minded people who aren’t toxic and then can add to btag and play frequently without the lfg Bs

I have a decent friends list of cool people I’ve met in skirmishes. But it seems the most toxic are in LFG. Even if it says “yolo”, that can be misleading.
It’s called the Dunning-Kruger effect: people with low ability overestimate their knowledge because they can’t see the mistakes their making.
Of course some people are just toxic at any level, but the most ridiculous flames happen at the lower levels where there is very little game knowledge.
I would say that anything under 2k (maybe higher but can’t speak to that) focus on your own mistakes and how to avoid them. Everyone at that level is going to make mistakes (especially if you don’t have coms and experience playing together). So you need to learn how to recover from a partners mistakes as well as your own. In my experience, the more they focus on your gameplay, the worse they are.
Try to be receptive to constructive criticism, but if it isn’t given in a calm, helpful manner there’s a good chance that it’s bad advice anyway, or at the very least, not the only reason your team wasn’t doing well.

I once got insulted by my skirmish partner after he died in opener and I 1v2ed. I was like I 1v2ed why are you still mad?

I don’t know why you try to be so anonymous on here. It’s weird.
Skrim’s are a terrible place to practice real PvP. A lot of players go in there to mess with addons, try new macros, and try new specs for the first time. Some people even go in there to intentionally troll by throwing the match, just to make their teammates angry.
Get together a group in LFG “looking to improve” and get in voice. Start talking about what happened after each game until you understand what cooldowns were used, and how you can respond better. Record your gameplay if you have the hard drive space. Try to add tolerable people to your friends list and play with them again! (This is important)
I would recommend getting Fly Plate Buffs and OmniBar if you don’t already use them. It will help you understand what cooldowns the enemy is using and be able to see / respond to them better.
