Hi guys,
My alt arrived in Oribos before my main finished the quest line (my main IS finished), and I don’t see “The Threads of Fate” to skip the rest of the quest line anywhere. My alt has done the quests in Bastion and now it’s wanting to send me to Maldraxxus, but I’m over it and want to start world questing & other content with my alts. Can my alt still skip the rest of the intro questline now that my main has completed the whole thing now?
I’m assuming most folks are finishing the quest line with their main, THEN moving on to alts… but I started my alt’s quest line before finishing with my main.
No, it states you must have completed the main story lines, that means all of them to access threads of fate
One character has to do the entire quest line before you can do threads of fate (which doesn’t jump you straight to end game anyways, just let’s you collect renown and anima as you level through WQs and stuff).
Sorry for the confusion - my main has now completed the whole storyline. However my alt doesn’t seem to be getting an invite to skip. How can I pick up this quest on my alt to skip?
If your main…
- Reached level 60
- Picked a covenant
- Did that covenant’s short intro quest
And your questing alt…
- Is below 60
- Is running ‘Adventure mode’ through the 4 regions
Then…
You should be able to return to Oribos, and talk with Fatescribe Roh-Tahl and switch to ‘Threads of Fate’ mode.
They are standing at 78.97, 49.16, outside on the edge of the platform (on the right side past the Innkeeper)
If you have another alt that does the maw intro quest, they will get the choice upon first landing at Oribos.
This might be obvious - you can start adventure mode then switch to fate later, but can’t start on fate and switch back to Adventure mode.
Also, for new alts be sure to pick one or the other, because if you logout then come back in, the game will randomly pick one or the other for you. This is by design and happened to one of my other alts, the GMs can not undo it.
Thank you Toggle.
My alt is actually level 60, from herbing in Bastion. So my alt doesn’t fit that piece of the criteria.
Is there any way (that y’all know of) that I can activate Threads of Fate and skip the rest of the quests on each covenant area? I just want to choose my covenant and do wq’s all over.
I’m curious about this as well.
I’ve completed the campaign on my ‘main’.
I’ve leveled alts up to 60.
However, if I choose to do the campaign on an alt, and they hit 60, is the TOF no longer available for this new alt? Am I required to complete the campaign on this alt, or will they still be able to ‘auto-complete’ the rest, by speaking with Roh-Tahl?
The skip is stupid anyway, you still need to go to each place and do a bunch of crap for them you just get to do it in any order you want but they take away a hand full of quests to do it, so you end up running around looking for stuff to do more then anything i skipped and i regret it.
This is a valid point.
ToF allows you to bypass the zone campaign but doesn’t provide enough alternative quests to level to 60. If I recall correctly, ToF was built in response to players who wanted to PvP or dungeon crawl their way to max level. There isn’t enough PvE content in ToF to level quickly like the campaign actually provides.
I use ToF as an early escape from the campaign as soon as an alt hits 60 in the campaign, but no earlier.
Parts of this have been nerfed/changed with recent patches to shadowlands content, now you can skip a lot of things depending if you have one character at least 60 (you can skip maw intro at 50, even though it’s initially given at 48) There are other skippable things, like Torghast intro, getting into Korthia, skipping covenant renown levels, etc., depending on what you’ve done with other characters – I’m sure this has been posted here or on WoWhead, though felt it worth mentioning for those who are still wondering…
