Skip the next Expansion - Release WOTLK Classic

THE GREATEST EXPANSION OF ALL TIME.

Let BC have like 2 months of shine.

THEN BAM.

WOTLK Beta.

Then I guess you can start working on the next filler expansion, Revenge of the Tortollans or whatever.

So how would skipping an expansion help release Wotlk Classic? Walk me through this.

Revenge of the Tortillas, This time it’s family-style!

CATA Beta…

It will be pretty funny when ICC releases and people realize that over 90% of the Emblems of Frost you need for gear come from the raid, not from dungeons or world content.

Because people don’t realize that, these days.

What the OP is saying is ā€œhell with this classic bs, let’s get those QoL changes in already.ā€

While I agree Wrath was the best expansion, TBC was another great one. Don’t rush them into the bad ones too quickly. They really start to go down hill after BC and Wrath. No point in skipping one of the few really good ones

It wont go past cata for obvious reasons.

Let me add this to the list of bad ideas that would make me stop playing WoW.

I imagine anybody actually playing any of the Classic era servers to the point of endgame are fully aware that raiding is the be all end all of the endgame during that era.

and when it comes to ICC, you can pug almost half the bosses in there pretty easily even with a mediocre group.

For sure. There’s just this urban legend that gets parroted a lot that you could get raid-quality ICC gear in wrath just from doing dungeons. Which is technically true but took over 6 months to do. And I don’t think that’s what they have in mind.

The same people, though, refer to ā€œvalor pointsā€ which weren’t until the Cataclysm pre-patch, so… a lot of confusion and bad memory about how WOTLK’s systems worked.

You mean the systems that allowed you to play and gear up how you wanted? Yeah, it was amazing.

Wrath would be the end of the Classic era so best not to run into it too fast. Otherwise within a couple years it’ll just end with content and lock out forever. Pace it out with BC first!

No need to sacrifice retail though. Different teams, different games, they can multi-task! Retail is still the main WoW. They aren’t going to kill it for the rest of us just for a nostalgic side game only a certain faction of players are into. Support both, better for every side to succeed.

And there are baby turtles we must slay!

I have not heard this legend, other than the factual version of it. I am not saying it doesn’t exists because I haven’t ran in WoW circles for quite a long time. But I would be curious to know how it started.

I’ve always associated the point system with the old badge system. I’m sure I’ve often referred to Badges as points incorrectly. But they worked in the same capacity so why does it matter? Acquire ā€˜currency’ to buy gear.

And technically it was still wrath for 4 more weeks
yes I’m being facetious :stuck_out_tongue:

I love Wrath to death and spent an enormous amounts of time on it so I have no intention of replaying it again. I got everything I wanted out of it. But anyone that never experienced the greatness of Wrath should definitely give it a try.

I don’t remember, which expansion added transmog? That is the only thing I miss playing classic.

Do you have all the Trial badge rewards :stuck_out_tongue:

Let BC run it’s course is a better idea.

That was Cata, if I remember right.
