Skinning appears to behave as a weapon skill, the closer you are to 300 the harder it is to get levels of Skinning even in orange mobs.
This is definitely different from how it was in Classic WoW. I never played TBC back in the day so I could be wrong about this but it feels wrong at the very least, needing to skin ~30 mobs to get 1 skill when you’re about to finish

I’m having the same issue. I have skinning 301, Master Skinning trained, normal skinning knife, I’ve skinned 7 mobs for that one point above 300 and I’m a few in towards 302. Everything I’m killing and skinning is level 60 and level 59, so orange difficulty.

I have skinned 16 boars so far, no skill up yet. Still at 300/375
