Skills and Spells That Are Top Tier Satisfication

What spell(s) or skill(s) do you enjoy where the sound, animation or visuals are so satisfying, hitting that button gives you a rush of dopamine? These are my top five.

  1. Upheaval

Watching that bar ramp up and animation getting more intense with each level, whew!

  1. Execute

Getting that proc is so exciting, because when that big sword gets swung overhead, it feels like I’m giving someone their death sentence. Hard hitting animation.

  1. Shifting Power

If there was any spell at all that will make you feel like a mage, this is the one.

  1. Wake of Ashes

That holy wide sweep with a claymore will always make my day.

  1. Convoke of the Spirits

Specifically not shifted into any form. I’m sorry, what just happened? I don’t really know, but what I do know, is that was incredible.

Conversely, are there any skills and spells that are boring or underwhelming? For me, there a few, but you know what takes the cake? Ultimate Penitence. The potential, absolutely lost. The second I launched into the air, I felt excitement, and then immediately thought wow…wow that was underwhelming. I think there should be some spell throwing with arms or something, but oh well. Looking forward to new spells or improved ones.

Personally I think Divine Toll cast from Prot Paladin into a crowd of mobs is the most satisfying and impactful spell in the game.

Back in BFA I would have said the azerite meme beam.

Oh, that’s a good one. Totally slipped my mind.

All the spells that make my tauren shove his hands outward in a blast of energy. Usually arcane spells. The big ones. Love those…just wish arcane wasn’t so ugh.

Or prot pally shield throw. Love that lol

prot divine toll is the most satisfying button to press in the game.

Old animation chaos bolt was a very close second. It may not have always done the most damage, but something about launching screaming dragon heads at your enemy felt great.

Warlock Meta back in MoP was top tier everything.

Big power boost. Transformed your spells into better cooler spells. Lasted a long time. Made us very mobile. Etc.

It was addictive.

I miss the days when Shield Slam and Lava Burst were nukes rather than just generic pieces of a puzzle.

Traumatizing to even think about seeing that fly my way again.

It’s not on live yet, but I would be lying if I said the one ability I’m looking forward to in TWW is Templar Ret’s Divine Hammer.

I’ve been testing Templar on the beta and every time I press that button, the voice in my head yells “BRING DA HAMMER DOWN” and i love it.

This is the one right here.

I’m so curious but I won’t spoil it for myself. Not yet! I can’t wait to see it.

Hmm. I play all classes, but not all of them have this. Shadow Priest’s old Surrender to Madness during the Emerald Nightmare (and the rest of Legion) to use their insanity was…insanely rewarding. Sending out all those void pulses was also very satisfying on all your dot’d targets.

Execute is also a nice, meaty sounding ability. I wish they had done the same thing (given it a more unique sound) with Mortal Strike.

Stormbringer Chain Lightning is fun to watch. All the arcing lightning is great to see. Old Liquid Magma Totem had a better visual effect, actually lobing globs of magma around. Chef’s kiss.

Only a guardian can see their own moonfire. Which comes down with an amazingly satisfying crash, especially when Galactic Guardian is in use.

Chaos Bolt feels good to pump out and see fly across the screen.

The Avenger shield feels good, especially when there are casters.

The various Death Knight grips feel good to me - yoinking people from across the screen.

Full Moon on my Druid is fun, especially when it wipes out everything on the screen in one blast.

Nobody here mentioned “meteor”.

And people wonder why mages get the special treatment.

Disintegrate, Eternity Surge and Deep Breath. The visuals and damage are so good and satisfying.
I can’t wait to use the hero talent that alow to control the direction of deep breath. It will be super fun.

Void Eruption makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I like to use it when all of my cooldowns are available.

Balance has a lot of good ones.

Arcane bowling ball. Arcane Missles, the ability that causes arcane echo’s to chain-explode like 50 times in a few seconds on a group of dummies.

Priest’s Holy Nova, Halo/Div-Star, Penance, Shadow Apparitions(Shadow overall has good visuals), the new Voidweaver abilities

Enhance Sham’s rotation is pretty good.

Hunter Rapidfire

Night Elf Female Standing Idle Bounce Animation

Warlock Dimen-Rift, and Shadowbolt. I remember when I was taking screenshots of spells way long ago, and I zoomed in to a shadowbolt coming towards the camera, and realized there was a skull in the shadowbolt. I just thought that was kinda neat, because I never would have noticed it in regular play, but was a cool find when I was looking through the screenshots.

There’s a lot of good ones. Some of the Hero talents I’ve seen so far are looking good.
