Which class is truly the hardest? Or spec?
A low mobility range DPS that has to hardcast a lot.
The difficulty of PvE is maximising DPS while doing mechanics, not in rotational complexity.
I haven’t played them in ages, but just going off what I see on the forums anymore, probably Outlaw.
It really does depend from person to person, encounter to encounter.
Example for me, I have played Ranged for so long that it’s just natural to me. I have tried playing Melee but it’s just a more difficult experience for me. So I’d weight melee specs as more difficult than others may find.
With that said, just like there are specs that are generally considered easy (Ret, BM, Frost DK) I think the specs that generally give people a hard time are Feral Druid, Shadow Priest, Enh Shaman, Sub and Outlaw Rogue
Feral still has snapshotting (DoT empowerment), coupled with CD management. The Druid toolkit of shapeshifting can also be a lot for some people. I personally recommend binding forms to scroll wheel (Ctrl + Up for Cat, as an example), it makes Druid a lot smoother.
The other specs generally just have a lot going on. Many spinning plates.
Enhancement was actually a lot more enjoyable than I recall when I played it a few weeks ago so maybe can be cut from the list, but I think the vast CDs coupled with the somewhat unique resource mechanic throws people off.
If you truly wanted to master a class, I think Druid overall would be the biggest challenge and most rewarding.
I think it can vary by player but I find Rogue, especially Sub rogue hard.
Class vs spec does matter.
Rogue is probably the hardest class overall as none of the 3 specs are “easy” but feral druid is a harder melee spec than any individual rogue spec while guardian and moonkin are stupid easy
Shadow Priest or Outlaw Rogue based on my last experience with each.
Whichever I suck at the most
Depends… if you are talking top percentiles… havoc
If you are talking about doing good enough… sub most likely.
Healer classes.
DPS has one target.
Tank has one target.
Healer has all the targets.
spriest, rogue of any spec, aff lock and dh.
Never worth it for me to even attempt those classes, I don’t have the dexterity to play a piano as a class lol.
I personally only play the crayoneater class/specs because I like focusing on the boss mechanics, I can’t do both.
Whatever spec I am currently playing because I need the ego boost. No one correct me please.
Stormbringer enhance shaman is probably the hardest dps to play in M+.
Rogue has insane apm requirements, Dh has a stupid amount of buttons( which is crazy when it was always chided for being 3 buttons). I “think” fire mage is still very punishing trying to fit everything into the combustion window.
Many people will say rogue, but rogue is one of the most mindless classes in the game, and I really don’t understand the delusion people have.
Based on warcraft logs:
- Shadow priest has the largest parse gap for DPS
- Prevoker has the largest gap for healers
Tanking there’s not really a way to measure it as easily.
Agreed, I should of clarified in my post that rogue is hard physically, not on a skill requirement basis
Outlaw is ridiculously easy, it’s just a pain in the butt to maximise DPS because of the Roll the Bones buff, if it triggers maximum buffs GG top DPS, but if you get 1-2 each time then GG bottom DPS.
The actual rotation is super easy and since you are a melee you can move and cast and have an almost zero downtime doing content. And whilst basically all casters are hard given that you need to move and cast, once you get used to them that side of things is not all that bad.
Everyones opinion on this matter will differ, there is no hard or easy class or spec, it comes down to what you are good at and keep away from what you are bad at.
