Ive tanked with the bear in BFA and SL. Its pretty simple. But I never real delved into resto, feral, and balance. Whats the skill level required for those specs? More so resto and feral. Im pretty avid in M+ and PvP and looking for an all around class I can play for any situation.
the skill lies within the player imo.
The class itself is pretty complex because you have all these different forms…which means lots of buttons, and high APM in combat. expect to build a unique UI as a druid, which is not something many other basic classes have to worry about.
resto for example - you’ll use every single one of your “stances” or forms…each equipped with form specific abilities.
that being said, most druids play for life…so it’s def a rewarding class with lots to explore…it takes a long time to master, so you’ll probably stick with druid for many years! ![]()
have an open mind, a good attitude, and you’ll make a fine druid, friend

boomkin isnt super hard but its constantly changing and requires u track and micromanage a bit. you can do decent damage just kinda button mashing ime but to get really good requires practice
resto druid is pretty easy. i picked it up beginning of this year. theres some nuance and it plays differently than most other healers and again, min-maxing it in dungeons requires a bit of effort and getting used to form swapping. resto is probably the one druid spec that uses all forms a lot. meanwhile boomkins wont even shapeshift to self dispel.
idk about feral
in raids and dungeons resto has low skill floor i think, but medium ceiling for raid and high-ish for dungeons. idek with boomkin since im bad at it, watch naguura to get a feel i guess
So I’m the same but I only have experience in resto. I’m a heal main in general and have every healer maxed. Imo resto druid is probably the easiest healer to do well on. Basically just hot and the game plays it’s self. I’d recommend for anyone getting into healing. It’s very beginner friendly.
You cat say druids should be tree-ted as bear-y skilled players.
Moonkin.
Dont waste ur time learning this class
Druid requires maximum skill level. Well, except Guardian, because Guardian is super easy, NGL.
Balance - easy to pick up, hard to master
Feral - Hard to pick up, hard to master
Resto - medium to pick up, hard to master
Good luck and happy druiding, friend.
Resto isn’t hard mechanically compared to other healer. Unlike other healers you need to know the fights inside and out. It’s reactive healing is lower than others so you start prehotting when a big hit or aoe is going out. That is where the skill ceiling comes in.
For keys its a little more complex since you need to know when and how to get your dps rolling.
Actually…its the hardest tank to gain rating with ^^
I’m a very casual player and have been trying out Balance. There are a lot of things to track, but it’s actually quite fun and you get the hang of it after not too long. Sadly, for someone that is very chill and only does low keys, the ramp just makes me feel like a liability most of the time. I do great in some really big pulls, but otherwise, it’s a real struggle to do competitive dps because everything’s dead before I really get my mastery rolling.
I think if you plan on raiding or doing high keys, it’s really quite fun, and, while challenging at first, it’s definitely playable.
Yea I meant more or less rotation wise, Guardian is super easy IMO. Any tank in general is going to definitely take skill to play at high levels, for sure.
Just learn Feral. You don’t need anything else. 99+% percent of the game is fighting, and we all know;
Cat is 4 fite.
