Skill from Shadow Priest Bugged - Getting slow at dispersion

Character its getting slowed during dispersion and it sholdent be, so please fix it when possible. It doesnt happen everytime but happens frequently…

Read this part from dispersion description “…clears all snare and movement impairing effects when cast, and makes you immune to them while dispersed.” <<Make this work 100% like description say

You disperse into pure Shadow energy, reducing all damage taken by 90%. You are unable to attack or cast spells, but you regenerate 6% mana every 1 sec for 6 sec. Dispersion can be cast while stunned, feared or silenced and clears all snare and movement impairing effects when cast, and makes you immune to them while dispersed. font: Dispersion - Spell - WotLK Classic (wowhead.com)

When does this happen? During pvp?

It’s possible that the removal of the snare was resisted. The same thing happens with Escape Artist.

It’s also possible you were trying to remove one of the many abilities that don’t get removed with Escape Artist and make Dispersion has the same problem.

Need a specific example.

Here’s a specific example:

When working correctly, Dispersion doesn’t dispel slows and roots like Escape Artist; it provides immunity to them.

My guess is this is related to the mage talent Permafrost, which causes Chill effects to also reduce healing on the target, and somehow that’s preventing the immunity from working. Only a guess, though.

Thanks!!!

Yes this is not a bug that’s happening. Dispersion makes you immune sure, but it also clears off the snare. If the snare resists being dispelled it will persist through Dispersion. Immunity just means you cannot get a new snare, but the Frostfire Bolt in that video was there before he used Dispersion and no new snares are applied during.

Specifically, this talent

Is giving a pretty large chance for the FFB to not be removed by Dispersion. Since FFB is a Damage over Time effect it works, which is why they even used FFB over Frost Bolt.

It’s not a dispel. If it were, it would show combat log messages for successful and resisted dispels, like Escape Artist does.

I think you missed the line

clears all snare and movement impairing effects when cast

Test it in duels. Have the requisite hit for a level 80 and duel a Mage, have them use Frost Bolt and use Dispersion, you’ll see it removed every time. Have them use FFB with the talent I linked and you’ll see it only removed 70% of the time.
