I heard this might have been an issue before, but has anyone tamed Skarr (Molten Front) recently? Been camping him most of the day at his 2 sites, mostly being the only person in the zone and nothing. I’d say last 8+ hours…
Apparently he shares a spawn timer with Karkin and his spawn timer is 4-10 hours.

I know… Thanks for the reply though. I haven’t seen either one, and no other Hunters in the area. I just don’t want to be wasting my time if there is a bug.
No other hunters or no one else period because people could just be killing them to kill them.
I caught mine about a month ago on an alt. I had to do dailies there so camping after or before didn’t seem like too much of a chore. I did end up catching Karkin first and he spawned a couple more times before seeing Skarr.
I did hear their might be issues with the rares inside the front even spawning if no one else goes in there. My server is merged with 2 others so the front was always hopping. Yay! Lots of spawns but boo tons of other hunters after the same rares. I hope you get your tame! He’s a pretty cool cat imo.

Thanks that gives me a little hope. There was a rogue and druid on a few times throughout the day but it was mostly dead.

Ive been testing the issue regarding the rares showing up in the Molten Front. There was someone who said that if the area is not active with players the rares are removed and reset basically.
So as im on a RP server i wanted to test this theory and it is correct. In order to get the rares to spawn you have to be in the zone and basically camping for the minimum of 3-4 hours depending on the rare you are looking for.
Tonight after the 3rd or so hour Kirix, Skitterflame, and Karkin all spawned. Ive been waiting for Skarr as i want to tame him for a 2nd time and even though after 9 hours he hasnt spawned Karkin has spawned at least 3 times during that stretch.
Also, after the 9 hours ive done the rest of the spiders Deth’talic, Anthriss, and Solix all spawned as well. Now should i leave the zone for more than 15 minutes without any other player inside of the zone it will most likely reset and the rares would disappear until another player sits in the zone.
Hopefully this helps for those who were curious about why they are not seeing the rares on certain servers, etc. Obviously on the busier servers its possible that other hunters are taming them as competition.

I tamed him on Monday - so I could run matching bloodlust pets.
I also tamed Gondria, Loque, Hexados, Karkin ,Gib, and a couple other rares this week.
Make sure you set up a target macro (/tar Skarr), and press the button as much as possible. SilverDragon won’t see him unless he does something or you target him. I sat between the two spawn points and pressed the button until he spawned.
There was another hunter, who had just arrived, sitting at the spawn point to the East, but he couldn’t get a Tame off because you need to be on one of the lower islands when he spawns. I turned my back to the void and backed off the cliff. I landed right on top of Skarr and preceded to tame him.
This is the nature of RNG. One time I mapped TLPD and Vyragosa for three months. I was between jobs so I only slept after each spawn. One month, the TLPD only spawned once in a thirty day period. The next month it spawned 3 times in 24 hours, with only one Vyragosa in between. BTW, I killed it 7 (8?) times during that period - before account-wide mounts.

Yea, im not sure if there is a certain number of times one will spawn over the other or if its truly just at random. I did manage to get Skarr after Karkin had spawned 3 previous times. The one thing that can be random is the time between spawns.
The first couple of times Karkin spawned around 3 hours, the 3rd time it was 4 hours, and then 3 hours later Skarr finally spawned. The one thing that is kind of weird is that if you travel in Mount Hyjal in War Mode you will generally see Ankh and in regular see Magria. However, if you camp in the MF (im guessing in either regular or WM) it does not give you credit for the camp in both modes.
So last night as i camped in regular mode i tried to switch to WM to see if maybe Skarr was in the zone in a different mode but none of the rares were up that i had already triggered in regular mode. Just thought i would add that info for people in case they were wondering about that part of it.
“Checks to make sure that Skarr is still in pet bank…” Hey I’m good. Lol
On a serious issue though, there was an issue when firelands was live, of him spawning and falling through the platform, and then Despawning. Made it hard to tame him for a while. Could be a similar glitch

I have sat in Molten Front and had him spawn after being there for two hours - apparently in a few forums non of those rare spawn unless someone is in the area the entire time

you’ll need to be in the zone for at least 3 hours straight for them to spawn. Logging out etc will restart the timer.

I DID NOT KNOW THAT.
I sometimes park. But in warmode, being ever present for 3 hours is going to be a pain. Last of the big tames though. I might give it a try.
Who thought that spawn rule was a good idea for a non-BM tame ?
I waited there for about 6 hours, while tabbing out watching youube, doing some work, eating lunch etc and managed to tame Skarr twice. But I really made sure my toon never logged out so I kept a reminder on my phone to defeat, and loot one of the hostile elementals and then sell it on my Yak every half an hour.
Neither Skar nor Karkin are exotic pets, so non-bm hunters can tame them.
