Just got to Siren’s Isle, away for a bit. Is this content still going to be relevant at all with season 2 coming out? Is it one and done or worthwhile to farm? Thanks.
If you want the cosmetics it’s worth the farm, otherwise only the ring will be useful during Season 2. The rest of the gear will be obsolete, greens from Undermine will be a higher ilvl than Siren Isle vendor gear.
The fully upgraded circlet is the same item level as a S2 item upgraded as far as it can go with just runed crests.
Question is whether the ring will be useful by the time they earn it, since it takes, what, 4? 6 weeks to max out the ring?
It’ll likely still be “worth” it, but maybe just barely (depending on the type of content the OP does).
It’s been longer than 6 weeks. They can max out the ring in about 20 mins.

The gear will still be the fastest catchup gear for a fresh 80 until whatever catchup they add in 11.1.5/7.
The ring will likely be made obsolete at the same time, like they did with the ring in Forbidden Reach.

its still going to be a decent way to gear up fresh 80s, but otherwise only worth it if you like to collect mogs and mounts

It won’t be upgradeable. I’m pretty sure the Undermine Greens are the same ilvl, if not higher, and on explorer or adventurer track.
The ring holds up to Heroic Liberation of Undermine gear. It’s a good starter piece for a fresh 80 even in S2. It was intended to hold up until then.

Realistically, if you read up on WoWhead and really put your mind to it, you can basically get everything from the island, with the exception of one achievement for the Meta, in less than 3 days.
The ring is BiS for every single class and spec so definitely work on that, which also is important because finishing the ring gives you flying on the island as well, if you haven’t unlocked it. (that’s 20-30 mins)
You can hard farm the island and get enough currency to buy all the goodies as well as any missing pieces of gear to complete your character, which you can also convert to Tier set if needed as well. For your main or alts. (that’s 1-3 hours or 2 days if you’re casual about it and need to do other things)
You can also get the mount of the island which is what everyone originally went in for in less than 3 days. It just required HARD farming. But totally doable, in group or solo.
You don’t need a whole week to catch up and get back in the game.

I skipped Siren’s Isle until this past week… from “first set foot on island” to “fully maxed out ring and can fly on island” is maybe an hour or so of play time, give or take… there’s no time-gating on Siren’s Island.
If the last two X.1 areas are any indication - it’ll take a few weeks to get gear of a decent ilvl from Undermine.
Whereas an hour on Siren Isle doing the dailies gets you a full set of the catchup gear.
