Siren's Isle is aggressively lame

They learned the wrong lesson from WoD.

so instead of having a content draught we have a content draught. at least forbidden reach had people playing compared to this which is mostly empty even on servers like stormrage sargeras and illidan

people have always been making excuses and defending blizzards bad decisions

People are comparing it to main patch content and expansion content which is just dumb. It’s filler content and for filler content its good.

Stop exaggerating it’s purpose.

Historically mid tier/season patches have always been pretty lame. I do agree though that Siren Isle is like beyond lame. Heck even Korthia, which had the massive corporate scandals AND COVID rocking the world and most every country and business still managed to have way more stuff to do.

Heck I get done with what I “need” to do there in like an hour and that’s it for the week. To be fair though, I suppose I’m likely more grateful because if it was more useful I might feel more obligated to spend time there vs getting to watch shows or pursue other activities I might otherwise not get to do because I’m doing chores on WoW.

Korthia was a major patch addition. It was 9.1.

I literally compared it to Forbidden Reach from Dragonflight which is also filler content. Nobody here in this thread has compared it to a main patch zone. I swear, you people have canned “defend blizzard” responses that trigger without you even thinking.

I gotta agree that it’s a much lamer Forbidden Reach.
Smaller, and with much less to do.

Even as filler content, it’s worrisome.

The mog variety is great though.

I saw this a mile away, as if I would travel to an island for a PVE ring when I’m a PvP player. lol

Eh… it’s just what they need to do for now while they’re working on player housing and the new expansion. It’s the answer to losing a raid tier for this stuff.

Yeah, about that. Expect the final raid tier to not be good. I wouldn’t even be surprised if the rootlands doesn’t materialize this expansion and the final patch is just a raid instance with some kind of event happening in the launch zones as “content”.

Who asked for player housing? nobody lol.

It’s never satisfactory enough because of those standards are not tailored for it in the first place.

And by the way did it occur that people might like the Isle and hate Forbidden Reach? Personally they’re about the same for me.

I haven’t seen anyone with that opinion yet. Sure, its possible, but I’d just say that they have poor judgement.

I did. I don’t really buy the “it’ll cost a raid tier” argument. We’re paying customers, Blizzard doesn’t get a pass to skimp on dev time because they’re working on other stuff. Games with a fraction of WoW’s success manage to be far more ambitious with their content cycles without sacrificing quality.

Not that I mind much, but it clearly feels like a downgrade from 10.0.7, even if they might have worked harder for this one (2 phases, 3 events).

As long as they don’t laze out on the major patches, I’m cool.

On that note, it’s kinda lame to have those unique items become trash in a few months.
They should have reused the Onyx Annulet somehow, as it’s functionally the same item, with lamer effects.

Haha. Look this kind of content wasn’t around for most of WOW’s history. Could it be better? Absolutely but for what it is meant to be…I’ll rather Blizzard work on it step by step.

Though regarding the ring itself locking the BIS stones was hilariously inept on their part.

I’m not a fan of weekly choirs but hey I guess some people are excited about it. do this quest get 3 points, come back next week rinse and repeat.

even Isle of Quel’Danas was better came out in 2007

We shall see!

I don’t have time to sift through the interviews, but they literally told us it would cost us a raid tier. It’s an entirely new system. I think the way they approached it with this kind of stuff is much better.

Now… if this type of thing continues through all three expansions… then I’ll have some words.

I’ve played WoW for quite a long time, so I take Ion’s excuses with a large grain of salt. He’s blatantly lied on interviews more often than any developer of any game I’ve ever seen.

And even if it were true, that’s not an acceptable answer to me. “Oh it would take away from X dev time” is ridiculous and doesn’t hold water.

Don’t think it was him that said it. Pretty sure it was a couple of others.

Eh… I’ve been in game dev offices. I get where they’re coming from. You can’t just conjure all of this or more people from thin air. lol
