I don’t mind the not flying in a new zone, but what I do mind is they took moonkin form away from resto, which means they took flap away from us. I have to spec balance to get my mobility in non-flight areas back. It’s seriously uncool.
I finally got to a place where I could world content comfortably in restoration spec by just grossly outgearing world mobs, and that’s been fine.
But…now we hit the first no-fly zone of the expansion (which is fine to me; I actually like having areas that use ground travel form), and it forced me to remember my dismay and upset from launch week when I discovered they’d stolen my flap.
I just cannot understand why they did it.

If you can dream it you can flap it

Blizzard wants Balance to be the only spec with Moonkin Form. I never minded that other specs could go into the form, but it was not a change they wanted to make permanent. I think they want each spec to feel more distinct. Also, doing world content as restoration has never been recommended.

Every spec can use bear and cat. Why is moonkin form special in that regard? And if it is so special that other specs shouldn’t have it (damage increase), then separate flap from it.
No, but it sure is convenient, and I like being able to do it when the mood strikes. I also enjoy the challenge of trying delves in Restoration…but they haven’t really gotten that tuned very well, yet. They’re working on it, though, so I have hope that it will be a possibility in future iterations of delving.
I just miss having flap when in restoration spec. That’s all.

No arguments here. I’m just guessing that these changes were made with that in mind. I’ll be honest: when we had Moonkin Form as Restoration, I always forgot to use it.

I miss moonkin form because of the reduced damage I put out now. That and I miss adaptive swarm so very very much.
I have always done outdoor/world content in resto spec. No delves, tho.

I’ve been messing about with 8 delves in restoration just…to see.
I mean, I can do it, just because we’re impossible to kill in resto, but it’s painfully long. Brann doesn’t really tank for us, and he doesn’t do enough DPS to make up for that lack.
It’s just less painful to do them in Balance when solo.
I think because moonkin form used to be the capstone talent of the balance tree, while cat and bear form were just class quest / train.
