At what point can we just buy the upgrades for this ring for the alts? Like… I have grinded the ring in like 5 alts and im tired of having to go to that waste of time island. The only reason anyone is there is for the ring grind and then leave, just let us buy it after so many alts.

Honestly I just wouldn’t bother with it, even for alts. At this point I don’t think blizz is gonna change anything about it. I actually thought it was account wide unlocked anyway but perhaps not?

Just another half baked implementation in an expansion touted as being alt friendly with ‘warbands’.
The actual gems are NOT purchasable by alts, they must be purchased by a character that got them through completing events and such, and then mailed / banked to the character that needs them (even though the currency is warbound transferable).
The upgrade gems are not buyable by any characters and the ‘catch up’ drops mostly come from boxes that only drop AFTER a character has run each cave boss several times for all the gems, and even then its a random chance.
And just because why not - the second upgrade quest won’t even be available until the weekly fill the bar meta quest is completed - so alts can’t even just run through the quest upgrade chain.
Respect our time? Nope - just a bunch of marketing BS and spin.

The gems from the vendor are warbound, so you just need to do the quests to level the ring. It makes things much quicker if your main can buy and mail the gems to alts.

You get a bunch of Valorstones from it too. Takes like a half hour at most. 
The upgrades can drop from the cave bosses, too. I rarely do any of the quests.
Gems are easy to get, too. I don’t understand the issue.
