Their gonna buff it again before the end of the week don’t worry, similar to the annulet their gonna make it to where you HAVE to use it just so it justifies them wasting time on making another stupid gimmick item.
They’re always afraid of that… What does that say about their belief in the content if they always feel this is necessary? To me it shows they know it’s lackluster so they need to drag it out… If the content was good it would stand on its own merit. It’s a shame and has been a problem for a very long time.
639 feels pretty nice, actually. Looks good too.
Hoping to hear something soon, nearing the 24 hour since patch was live time and no hotfixes or mentions about the ring is concerning, especially since they seem to be contradicting what they said before the patch went live by buffing the ilvl.
It’s primarily about balance, with the core issue with the siren isles being there simply isn’t much of anything to do on them. Other than keep killing a rare mob for a chance at the key for the mount, and then mass murdering things on the island for even lower chance at a key fragment for the mount. Personally speaking I’ve lost interest already in trying to get the mount, I just can’t justify spending hours in that storm killing the same rare over and over again for a lackluster mount, even though I already have three keys as it stands.
In terms of content they just didn’t add much of anything, other than tidbits of lore about the vrykul being there and messing with azerite at one point. In all honesty I would have rather had nothing, over what we got, and I know that’s a very grim thing to say. Yet when you look at what the siren isles are, which is a poorly designed island for the sole purpose of keeping people engaged week to week. It just comes off as better to just play it on reset day for the next two weeks, then ignore it until week 6 and just zip through the quests to max the ring out, and then never look back again. Which means it simply fails at its purpose, given at least with the forbidden reach you had much more to do.
I actually asked the Assassin rogue theorycrafter what ilevel would be needed–expecting to not get an answer–but he said “basically, you need a green ring for this not to be a downgrade.” Hilariously bad. But, hey, we killed our last boss so it’s not so urgent to me.
Just to be clear, the ring DOES have stats and accepts gems (my character is wearing one).
Im gonna skip the whole island thing, im done for the season so i dont need the ring
It’s not even dropping the ball. They do this over and over with borrowed power sources. Legion Legendaries. BFA Corruption gear. All of it constantly is non-targettable when it’s first released. And every time they end up saying that the realize the problems with this and then do it again.
At this point I have to feel this is intentional now on their part. Someone has to have worked there that was there in the previous iterations and spoken up by now and said, “Wait, why are we doing it this way? Didn’t the playerbase hate it?”
I would too; and it’s because they continually put out lackluster things that either aren’t evergreen, or are so gated out the wazoo because they don’t trust their own work.
Speaking of the ring, am I completely misunderstanding the Windslinger’s runed citrine, because it says gives x amount to your highest secondary stat, which for me is mastery but when i put it on it actually gives me my lowest secondary stat which is vers. Is this happening to anyone else?
the “4 ring” is much better.
It has to be intentional. They release broken/overtuned content just so they can release “the fix” later and call it new content. And a sizeable chunk of the playerbase laps it up. “See guys! They listen and they care!! They filtered out the floaty bits. Best dogwater ever!!!” Rinse and repeat.
It just shows their “we are listening” was just advertising speak to appease the playerbase. They are definitely not listening or listening to an extent because they know where the “unsub” line in the sand is located.
Ya 50k dps loss it what I saw compared to a 619 with two sockets.
WoW in a nutshell.
My rings have so much haste that equipping the new ring no longer makes haste my highest stat so it gives me crit instead. BM can’t afford to throw away over 4k haste.
With mine its a difference of vers being 9% and mastery being 25% but it is picking vers for my “highest” stat lol
Really makes little sense why they keep doing this. By the time the current ring becomes an increase we will be about a month out from the next patch and by then nobody will have even really used it.
As someone with a bunch of alts with 619 rings, the time investment just isnt worth it.
It provides about a 2.2% margin of my overall healing. Which, if I had a ring with actual stats and sockets, I would get more out of. I’d rather have 3800 Haste and 1900 Crit rating, along with the bonuses from the Blasphemite meta gem.
It’s really sad lol.
