Raidbots header says “initial support for 11.0.7 is now live.”
They always do when things like this come out.
Such a stupid way to implement it. If half your gems blow just release em all and let ppl farm.
Getting REAL tired of pointless time gating.
Don’t worry, within 48 hours (probably a lot less) Kaivax will post something along the lines of “after discussion and based on your feedback, we’ve made changes to gem availability.”
Sadly I don’t think they’re going to remove the 6 week timegate on upgrading the ring’s power levels.
I mean, they didn’t drop the ball. They left it lying on the ground and then said yesterday, “say, maybe we better tell everyone we’re gonna pick this up, eventually.”
I’m not super-angry or anything but I’m disappointed wince we are close to a heroic kill on the last boss in my heroic raid and it would have been nice to get a boost.
The ring is worse than my ilvl606 ring. I would be trading ~3% crit and ~3% mastery for more stamina. I was confused when upon receiving the new ring and found this post. It will be sitting in my bank for now.
Even for me though, and I’m pretty casual I am not sure the ring is good. I can’t recall exact numbers but I think I soils gain 5000 stamina but lose 2500 haste and 2500 vers.
Even with the one socket that adds 2800 of a stat I’m still coming our behind as I’d prefer a secondary over stamina.
It depends how often that proc damages things I would have to sim
I dont know, I got the ring on my main who was only rocking a 619, and I got the ring on every alt, each of which had mostly sub 616 rings, some even were still green sub 500 rings. All in about 2 hours.
Now I will work on my mains ring while queuing for satchels and watching TV. A comfortable society will complain about anything. Geez lol, its a game.
What do you mean? All 3 slots of my ring are socketed.
One ring to bind them all together….
Yeah, the time-gating feels horrible. Why am I stuck with some healing gem on this newly-released content? Just let us choose the gems or buy them. The “new ring” feels horrible (for now).
And don’t just change it for people that haven’t done it yet…just put a vendor in and sell the gems for those of us who have done all of the content already and are feeling let down. For perspective, I’ve been playing the game for nearly 20 years…and I was so confused that I had to google it all like 5 times. It just makes no sense to get this new, awesome, super-high-ilvl ring and have it be useless for now. It feels terrible.
This definitely isn’t that ring
player retention, or an attempt at it. They’re terrified players will eat all the content in a week and then unsub until the next batch of content comes out (or worse, not come back at all.)
This time gating with the ring has a higher chance of making someone mad enough to end their sub vs just letting you get the gems you want to use.
Oh I don’t disagree with you. Just saying, their goal is player retention and avoiding people eating all the content in one sitting. Its a bad goal, because they’re bad at it. But that is the goal.
There is a “1 Ring” still in game, but you won’t like it…lol +1 to all stats IIRC.
Onyx Annulet took some time to max out and be viable. If the Siren Isle’s one is going to Myth track, can see not giving it straight away.
This is the real problem.
It’s not apparent from the in game information whether its an up or not.
“You have to sim it”, which really isn’t good game play, frankly.
I don’t have a problem with someone needing to sim if some fractional change is relevant, but here’s 639 ring. 639 should be quite powerful. I shouldn’t have to sim it to decide to replace a 606. It should be obvious.
Me, I swapped it out. (Doesn’t matter than much to me.) Within a week or so, Wowhead will have its “best of the best” ring combos, and I’ll just hit that up.
Until then, i get to gorge my bags with gems. \o/
Yeh they’d a huge problem, and I think a lot of players still play wow without simming or even regularly visiting websites.
You should be able to look at two items side by side and say “ah this is better.”
TBH I don’t want this ring to be bis. I’d rather it be a fun mini patch gimmick that isn’t impactful going into season 2. Like the ring from the dragonflight mini patch.
It was pretty clearly unintentional and not play tested beyond “does it work” by anyone that actually plays the game.
Not a single Blizzard employee asked if 3 DPS gems are available week 1. I’ll bet a hotfix of some kind happens.
